Our first time trying this place, it’s has great vibes and decorated really nicely. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were perfect. The only thing we wouldn’t order again is the seafood with exo sauce, it felt like there was 70% onions and 30% seafood for $18.95. Service is like any Chinese restaurant, once you get your food, they don’t return to the table until you’re ready for your check. Would definitely come back to try more dishes.

Ordered: Beef chow fun, Thousand year old egg with pork congee, cauliflower hot pot, tofu with enoki mushroom and the seafood with exo sauce.

Hong Kong Cafe is a fantastic restaurant! The first thing you notice when you arrive is the ambience. The walls, paintings and furniture give the feeling of being in a cafe in Hong Kong.  There is even a phone booth, bench, and trashcan that look like they are from Hong Kong.  Even their plates and bowls contribute to the feeling of being in a Hong Kong cafe.

Their menu has a very large selection.  There are over 100 items on the menu, from dim sum, hot pot, steaks, and congee.  I tried the hot pot and French-style fillet steak, and was very satisfied.  The food came out quickly.  The hot pot had many ingredients and was very full and well-heated.  I enjoyed the tender meat and soft vegetables, as well as the tofu and eggs mixed within.  The flavor of the broth was very delicious and very warming on today’s cold night.  The French-style fillet steak was seasoned well and flavorful, and the meat was fresh, tender and cooked well.  The onions included in the dish were crisp and delicious as well. Additionally, there was a large selection of drinks, from HK style milk tea, cream soda, red bean shaved ice with ice cream, and ovaltine.

The restaurant is very family friendly, and there was plenty of seating for small and large groups.  The restaurant is very popular and the restaurant was full of customers when I dined there. Overall, it was a great unique experience at the restaurant and I would highly recommend everyone to give this place a try.

Food: 4*
Service: 4*
Ambiance: 4*

Enjoyed a New Year’s Eve early dinner here. They serve a variety of Hong Kong style food. A party of four ordered:

Food
Stir fried seafood w/ X.O. Sauce – 5* – pictured
Tasty seafood mix with the breath of the wok. Served with white rice. Hit the spot.

Hot pot – Taiwanese spicy broth with beef – 5* – pictured
Very unique broth. Spicy and a Little floral. Fish balls, veggies, a little beef, served with vermicelli. Very tasty and delicious.

Seafood chow fun – 4* – pictured
This was good, but the proportion of noodles to seafood was off. Lots of noodles, little seafood mix. All in all tasty. I asked for it crispy (Hong Kong style) but they said they couldn’t do that. Hmm.

Garlic sauce – 5* – pictured
Meant for the hot pot. But we used it on several things. Great addition.

Orange chicken – 4*
All in all good. Crispy and well seasoned, just a little off on flavor.

BBQ pork bao – 4*
I’m. I’m not a a bao fan, but these were good. Small mount of pork, lots of bao. I wanted the two other dim sum options, but they were sold out.

Service was good. You had to keep getting their attention for everything, but they were responsive once you could flag them down each time.

Ambiance was kingpin of flashy and little hip. It was clean and well lit. I will return to try other options.

Dinner after having fun at Chuck E. Cheese cause they are in the same plaza. The food is delicious, everything is fresh and very tasty. I would say it’s the same like their other branch in Walnut. Our favorite is the shrimp and egg chow fun, chicken steak, and salt & pepper calamari.
The Hong Kong milk tea is authentic and strong. Definitely should try it.
I also love their plates and bowl designs. Very unique and makes you feel like you are dining in Hong Kong!!
The down side is the wait. We approximately waited for an hour just for the table of 4. The space is not big but plenty of space.
The place is clean and the service is fast. The server is nice and helpful. The price is also considered cheap with the amount of food that we got!!
Totally recommend it!!

Came here for Hong Kong style brunch on the weekend. Arrived around 10am and was maybe about a 5-10 minute wait. We were hoping to get some Hong Kong style French toast but unfortunately they didn’t have any on the menu 🙁 it’s ok though, the pineapple bun was delicious and made up for it! The ribeye steak breakfast plate was a pleasant surprise. The steak was actually juicy and cooked well. We also ordered the beef chow fun which was good. For drinks, I would recommend milk tea + coffee combo!

Cute interior inside and good fast service. Will come again!

Delicate interior design with local elements like those in Hong Kong. Milk tea is pretty authentic and origin but pitifully, served with paper cup instead of traditional thick-rounded-milk-tea cup. Pineapple Bun has a very different recipe.

Finally found a Hong Kong–style café in LA that truly feels like home!
Loved the authentic yuanyang milk tea — rich and smooth.
The wonton noodles were springy and flavorful, and the pork chop rice was perfectly saucy and tender.
Everything tasted just like what I had back in Hong Kong. Highly recommend!

A diverse menu of items from the classics to even some dim sum.

Milk tea with classic black and white and not too sweet, just right.

Pineapple pork chop bun was fine.

Fish curry missing the potatoes and onions but fish was tender and curry was thick and tasty. Not enough pasta and sauce though.

Had a fried rice to finish off the curry. Rice a nice texture with plentiful pork and shrimp. Could have used scallions in it.

Prices fair and service alright.

I love the decor inside. We waited about 30 minutes for a table. Service was pleasant and the wait food was good. We got popcorn chicken, spam rice platter and shrimp wonton noodles soup and Hong Kong Black Lemon Tea. Free refills!

I’d highly recommend this restaurant for any Cantonese missing food from home! The food quite accurately replicated the flavors and tastes found in iconic Cantonese dishes, particularly 炒菜心. Our food arrived within 10-15 minutes, and the wait for seating only took around 10 minutes as well.
