Great Vietnamese food at reasonable prices.

I’ve been coming here a few times since it opened and even took my colleagues here, all of whom thought Cay The was excellent.

This place has much more of a cafe / diner vibe as opposed to a restaurant which I actually prefer given the type of food served. Which is your typical Vietnamese Classics, Pho, Banh-Mi, Rice and Noodle based dishes. Having had the majority of them, I can honestly say that none of them have dissappointed.

The pho is hearty and wholesome with plenty of broth, meat and veggie additions. The curry dish was tasty and comforting. The spring rolls, freshly cooked and crispy. The spring rolls were enriching and nourishing. The service is also good, they are very attentive and provide everything you need. What’s better is that this place also is BYOB and don’t charge corkage. This is amazing.

What’s great is that Abingdon needed a place like this to bring some variety to the scene and boy has Cay The delivered on that.

If you’re local and haven’t been already, I would strongly recommend a visit and try as many of the dishes as you can. You won’t be dissappointed!

Being Vietnamese heritage and yearning for comfort food, I discovered this restaurant newly opened in Abingdon. My friends recommended it so decided to order one of my favorite dishes. It was fresh, well presented and generous size. Service was efficient and polite. They seem to gather a good clientale and Saturday was a busy night so definitely book in advance. Being cafe style, I wouldn’t recommend it to larger parties unless you book in advance so they can rearrange the tables to suit. I would like to return to try other dishes. I think it’s a good introduction to people who never visited Vietnam before. Hopefully more people will visit our beautiful country with lovely people and amazing healthy yet tasty cuisine! Thank you for opening Vietnamese cuisine to Abingdon. It needed it!

I visited yesterday on my lunch break and enjoyed the Beef Pho Special and the Lemon Jasmine tea. Very delicious and great portion size! I would definitely recommend and will be back to try more of the menu. The items also came out really quick, so it was perfect for popping in at lunch when you’re in town.

Great place, can’t recommend enough. Popped in for lunch and tried the summer rolls, combo pho and beef stew with rice. All very flavoursome, with good portion sizes and plenty of flavour.

First time trying Vietnamese food, a lively experience indeed, opted for the fried pork with noodles which was accompanied with a salad and very flavourful broth, the Vietnamese iced coffee was nice touch and very sweet. Tried the slow cooked beef dish as well which was delicious, definitely planning to come back to try the pho next time.

My wife and I decided to visit this place after reading about it in the Oxford Mail. We tried the Beef Pho Special and the Special Rice, and for drinks, we had the Vietnamese-style coffee.

The highlight for me was definitely the Special Rice – the meat was well-marinated and full of flavour. The coffee also left a strong impression with its rich and authentic Vietnamese taste.

The restaurant has an open layout, so you get to see everything going on around you, which adds to the experience. I was also pleasantly surprised by how clean and fresh the restroom was – they even use essential oils to keep it smelling nice.

Overall, we were very happy with our visit and will definitely be coming back again!

Tried out the new Vietnamese café in Abingdon with my boyfriend and was really impressed. The town’s been needing a noodle spot like this for ages. The pho was tasty with generous portions of meat and noodles, and came with loads of fresh vegetables, herbs, and chillis to mix in, and the spring and summer rolls were great too. The staff were really friendly, smiling and happy to explain the different dishes. The space is comfy with nice views out the window. Will definitely be going back – will be perfect for iced coffees and takeout in the summer.

Fantastic pho, great portion, thick beef slices, you can taste the good aroma of beef in the soup, not just beef stock in normal Vietnamese restaurant for budget control, will come back for the rice vermicelli (no soup pho in my understanding), 100% recommend,
Plus, also a good selection of vegan choices

Absolutely over the moon that they now offer a vegetarian main (Pho) – definitely worth the wait. Would be nice if they offer some Vietnamese beers eventually!
