I’m Korean (yes, we’re picky eaters )
But Puerto Rican food??? I’m DONE
The soup called “Sopa” had me questioning my entire life—so hearty, so delicious
I was like, “I might marry this soup” (The soup only comes out on Wednesdays)
Then I met the chef… yeah, I might marry HER
Best cook. Legit Puerto Rican food. No debate.
AND my future brother-in-law (co-owner) gave me a Jibarito rice pudding pie—
I almost cried. I’m not ashamed ❤️

I would give it a hundred stars if I could. The food is absolutely exceptional. It’s better than most restaurants and in my opinion probably all Mexican/Hispanic restaurants. The love that goes into making the food is unmatched. I eat there every time I go to my office. I wish I could have it everyday. My heart belongs to El Jibarito!

Great people at the counter and kitchen staff. Had a great steak quesadilla here with some absolutely amazing salsa! I would buy that salsa if they sold it! The quesadilla had a great ratio of meat, cheese, and Pico De Gallo. The tortilla was crispy but not overcooked. I’ll definitely be back here again!

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and I chose the pernil with arroz con gandules. As someone familiar with Latin cuisine, I can confidently say this dish was exceptional, rich in flavor, well-prepared, and truly satisfying. It’s not often that a restaurant delivers this level of quality, but they did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this spot and look forward to ordering again.

Best spot in the food court. Deserves its own spot tbh.
I love the Cuban sandwich here and the owner makes the mustard himself too apparently! Great w Yuca fries (comes w white sauce) and Plantains.
The Pernil Combo was great as well. Tender pull-apart pork, paired with Hot sauce (self-serve)
The only thing is that the menu looks slightly overwhelming without many pictures but don’t let that discourage you

This place is awesome. I had a friend take me here and initially I thought hmm a food court, but she swore by it and I wasn’t let down. Ricky the owner was great and suggested a few things. I opted for the barbecue sandwich which was amazing. It was moist and tender and tasty all around. The yucca was amazing too. Perfect combination of salty and crisp with a sauce that paired great. The soda he suggested was like a cup of iced bubble gum that made me feel like a kid at heart. So yeah it’s in a food court it raises the bar for the rest of the place. Plus when you’re done with your amazing meal you can always buy some roomier pants on the way out.

Was excited to see them at JC pride festival.Ordered a choripan. It was undercooked and pink. Took it back and man had attitude and refused to take it back or cook more. I wasted $13 and they lost a long time customer.

Tried El Jibarito in Newport Mall and it instantly brought me back home. I had the arroz con gandules, ropa vieja, and maduros everything was incredible. You can taste the difference in the ingredients. Nothing from a jar, no shortcuts, just real sofrito and seasoning done right. I’m always chasing that taste that reminds me of my mom’s cooking, and it’s rare to find a place that even comes close. This one does. You can tell they cook with love and pride in every dish. Happy I finally tried!
