We were in the area and searched for a halal spot, and Halal Yemen Restaurant came up. As a family who loves Yemeni food, we had to give it a try, and we’re so glad we did!
I’ll be honest, the food was full of rich, authentic flavors, especially the Fasha meat, which was tender and perfectly spiced. We wanted to try more, but the lamb was sold out, a sign of how good it must be! We’ll definitely be back next time to try the rest of the menu.
If you’re looking for delicious, flavorful Yemeni food, this place is absolutely worth checking out.

We tried the lamb and chicken Mandi cooked over charcoal absolutely delicious!
Unfortunately, we ate so fast I didn’t get a chance to take any photos
But the ‘Areekah’…oh wow! It was something else!
Seriously, I don’t think you’ll find a place that makes it better than this one.
Highly recommend this spot worth every bite!

If you overlook the state and cleanliness of this place then you’ve won half the battle. It’s a shame that was our first and lasting impression. The inside definitely needs some love and attention. However I think all their focus is diverted to the food and not the surroundings.
We ordered the Liver with bread and the Lamb Soup. My partner enjoyed the Liver and I absolutely loved the Lamb Soup! I drank every last bit and could have ordered another bucket load of it. Their black tea….is packed full of flavour and again I could have drank pints of it. They didn’t charge us for the tea which was a nice gesture.
Don’t let the interior put you off. Close those eyes and order away. I’m sure you will be very pleased with what’s on offer.
Service was quick and the staff were polite and friendly. Adequate seating is provided if you decide to eat in.
Free ample parking is available right outside the restaurant.

The first time I’ve ever tried Yemeni food, and I was blown away. The flavors were incredible, the portions were generous, and the price was completely worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back for more.

Order their kapsa chicken and kapsa lamb dishes, unfortunately, all are the same flavors. Uncleaned table and chairs. The chicken was spoiled and everything before the day food. I expect their photos and review to seem like authentic Arabic food. But unfortunately not…..

Good place to get a nice Yemeni meal, as it’s as close to the real thing as you can get in Rochester. We ordered the Hanidh and Fahsa and they were delicious, the bread was fantastic. I do wish that they improve on their service and atmosphere to better enjoy a lovely meal.

For the purists. Absolutely fantastic food. Staff is nice and serve complimentary soup and some of the best bread I’ve ever tasted, fresh out of the oven. Meat and chicken falls off the bone and is rich in flavor. The atmosphere needs a lot of work but this is a total purist Yemeni food tasting experience.

Half of a boiled, baked chicken served on a bed of rice mix. Delicious. Priced right and served fast. Looking for a quick bite at an affordable price, give it a try. If you like your food With hot sauce or other sauce, bring your own.
