It’s Helen’s sausage House. You know you’re getting good. Sausage and good service. Had to stop here because the one closer to me was closed on Sunday. So yay to this place being open on Sunday!
Pricing is reasonable for the quality you get. Would I like it cheaper? Yes. But you can’t have everything.

Hard to say what I liked best here. Quick friendly service, crave satisfying food, bright interior—all window seating. Have I not enticed you yet?…so, a challenge…go order something with toast, close your eyes and take a bite. How can a someone take something as simple as toast yet transport you to a different place and time? Not going to give it away but I’ve got my thumb on the pulse of that buttery flavor. Go. Eat. Enjoy.

The staff is really excellent. The food was standard. Not bad, nothing to write home about either. If you like sausage you’ll enjoy it here. Parking is a pain if you don’t go early since it’s on main st at UD.

As someone who grew up going to the original Helen’s I gotta say, Debbie is exactly what the Main Street location needed. I’ve been a few times (whenever I’m getting an oil change) food & service have always been great but Debbie gives it the welcoming, friendly feel I love from the original location. I truly enjoyed meeting & chatting with her today! Thanks Debbie!

I have been wanting to go to Helen’s for a long time. It just never worked out. Spoiler alert; I liked it. I usually like to go to the original location. I think it is safe to assume the sausage is the same at both locations. I like Newark in the summer with minimal UD students. $8 for a double sausage, egg and cheese sandwich, you know I like that. I got American cheese. Next time I am going to try the cheddar. It was a little dry but good. I don’t see me waiting in any of the long lines I see people waiting in to get Helen’s Sausage. PS, the 2 young woman working there were great.

Not only was the sausage basically boiled It was so bland it wasn’t even funny. The best part about this was the roll. I’ve had better hotdogs out of a hotdog stand.

I can’t say that I have ever had better sausage than Helen’s sausage! We drove from Laurel, DE because the Smyrna location was closed but it was worth driving 2 plus hours for. Props to everyone making it and thanks for making my birthday weekend extra special!

The people here are extremely kind and to make things even better, by far the best breakfast option in the area. I would highly recommend as the food is great tasting, and quick to be made.

So I ordered Door Dash and everything was fine no problems at all with DD. I ordered double sausage with cheese and peppers and onions and two hash browns. Helen’s wraps hot food in foil to keep it hot but hash browns aren’t supposed to be wrapped in foil because they don’t drain the grease and then they are placed in foil so once you get them to their destination they are soggy and greasy. Like McDonald’s they use paper or waxed paper for their hash browns to keep them crispy and hot. Maybe Helen’s can use that idea and also allow them to drain from the grease. I probably won’t order hash brown from there again but the sandwich was 10/10.

The double wides are the best! They take great care of us every time we come in. The best spot in Newark hands down. Debbie is amazing too!
