So sad they will be closing at the end of this month! 36 years plus! Such an amazing atmosphere that you can’t recreate or buy! No matter the money. Absolutely stunning good food, great people and best places ever! Again so sad they are closing, and new place will be here but so glad was there towards the end!

We’ve enjoyed this place in the past and this time, noted new owners. They didn’t skip a beat, same excellent quality food, friendly service, reasonable prices, and nice atmosphere. I wish the new owners success – you can tell they are working hard to do their best and please their customers. We’ll be back for sure. Thank you!
Updated after re-opening recently – Once again, they have served up great food. The perch dinner is the best we have had and we travel to many places in metro Detroit. I also like the atmosphere also and notice the subtle improvements being made. We’ll keep returning for certain!
Sept. 2021 – Just finished the perch dinner and they just seem to be getting better (i.e. still the best in area IMO). If you enjoy excellent quality food and service at a reasonable price, this is the place to go. I could rave about the perch, the zucchini sticks or the cottage fries…but I plan to try something different next time.

Great food. Fish was fresh, not frozen. Was surprised to see swordfish on the menu and even more so to see it tasted so good. Place is a bit worn but food made up for it. AND they have a bar, so was nice to have a glass of wine. Was talking to the waitress and told they’re new owners and would be remodeling over time. Will be going back.

Edit on my old review: We ordered carryout during the pandemic and the food was just as good as it was in the past. I don’t know what the inside looks like because I wasn’t the one that went in and grabbed our food but my wife said it looked the same. Prices were still the same as 3 years ago and we received just as much food, even doing carryout. Would have liked to sit inside and ate our meal but with covid we were unable.
Prices are a bit high but the ambience is amazing. If you’re looking for somewhere to relax and eat a good meal than this is the place for you. The waitresses are great and remember most people that walk through the door. Not only is the staff great but so is the food.

This place is truly “a hidden gem” just as they describe themselves! This food is outstanding, the drinks are so delicious (inexpensive compared to other restaurants I go to) and the service is great! They are working to update the decor and struggling to find employees, but I am not impatient and it was totally worth it! Very personable and friendly owners, will definitely be back!

The new owners are awesome- they kept the previous menu and added some fresh, new items as well! The service and food quality are outstanding. Hubby had perch and I had grilled chicken pasta salad. Highly recommend this little hometown gem!

Stopped in to sample Michael and Marco’s wares at their recently purchased restaurant. Merrie had the jumbo shrimp and I had the lake perch. The seafood was fresh and excellent in flavor. The batter was light and not greasy and did not detract from the seafood in the least. The sides were well prepaired and tasty. Finally, finished the meal with their pineapple cake which was delicious. The bartender made a mean bloody mary as well. All in all, it was a great experience at a fair price, and we will be back.

My girlfriend lives in the area and was wanting seafood. I came across the restaurant on Google. She said she knew the place because the restaurant and patronage never suggested much. I told her that we can just try it out.
You get there and everything seems basic. Very friendly staff and older but quaint decor.
Looked over the menu there were several items that interested me. Several reviews mentioned the perch so i tried it out. She had fish and chips.
Let me say the Perch ws excellent. Perch is one of those fish if it isn’t cooked right it sucks especially when fried. Coating was properly seasoned and the fish was light but moist. I thoroughly enjoyed it with the cottage fries.
Finally i heard the waitess discuss the desert list with some customers. I was willing to check it out.
All i can say is there were tears. ..
I had the bread pudding and she ordered the upside down pineapple cake and we shared. The pineapple cake was moist, perfectly banded out with just the right amount of sauce and cake. It comes out warm and just melts from your fork as you enter your mouth.
Then… the bread pudding. Made on site. It’s perfectly warm cinnamony rich bread balanced with apples and raisins with a whiskey sauce that makes you shake with joy. The cream on top cuts I’ts down to make the perfectly sweet dessert bite.
Overall excellent. Will be going back to try more items
