I didn’t even know this place was here but it has been since
1979. Decor is sparse nautical theme. A bit dark. I sat for awhile before they noticed I was there. Friendly and helpful. Food was wonderful. I had Cajun grilled shrimp, used very little cocktail sauce because it was delicious the way it was. The potato was perfection. The tea was good, not flavored sugar water like many places.

The food was horrible and price was way too high. Food tasted like it had been cooked the day before and reheated. I have always liked their food until now. I definitely will never eat here again!!!

I have driven by this place for YEARS and finally decided to stop to carryout. It’s nice to drive up to the side door and not have to get out with the dog in the car (on the way home from doggy daycare). I got a fried flounder and shrimp combo with baked potato, white coleslaw and hushpuppies. I am absolutely stuffed. VERY generous portions (couldn’t finish, plenty leftover) and like a previous review said, the baked potato was phenomenal. Everything was very good. Service was quick and everything (tarter sauce, cocktail sauce, butter, sour cream and slaw, since it’s cold) was provided in a separate bag. Today was the first visit but definitely won’t be the last.

The food was ok. Everything was fried in the same batter. Fish to pickles to shrimp. Only takes cash or check. Felt like they were hurting for business. Prices were high for a small country town fish camp. I didn’t dislike it. it was worth trying if you haven’t been.

This local seafood restaurant has been in place 40 years. The prices are very reasonable and the food is cooked fresh. My husband and I enjoyed a salad bar before we had a hamburger steak with onions and peppers, baked potato and mayonnaise slaw or vinegar slaw. All those at the restaurant got to enjoy homemade banana pudding or strawberry cobbler for complimentary dessert. The wait staff and chefs were very friendly and this restaurant had lots of locals in attendance . We stopped just by chance as we were driving by and I’m glad we did.

This is an old time fish camp that has been operated for many years by the same family . The food is good here , they have two kinds of coleslaw , salad bar , great homemade dessert . Fish is good but my favorite were the catfish fillets but on my last visit I ordered the fillets & got three small tenders . Price should be adjusted as tenders aren’t the same size as fillets . Nice friendly folks here .

We walked in around 7 on a Friday evening the place was not busy, we saw 2 waitresses 1 was working the other was working hard to not work, we waited almost 25 minutes before our order was taken then we waited another 45 minutes until our food came out! This used to be a VERY GOOD place to eat but needless to say we will not be back, our food was cold and the amount for the price was very sad, don’t mind paying as long as we get what we are paying for! Mc Donald’s sounds good lol

JB’ Seafood is one of the true old fashioned fish camps still around established in 1979 , run by the Edwards family in New Salem , NC . The seafood is delicious here & they offer most of your seafood favorites on their menu . You can get rich & delicious oyster stew , whole flounder , catfish. flounder , shrimp , oysters & more . Don’t skip dessert here because it is homemade & out of this world delicious. Fresh made salads , two kinds of coleslaw, onion rings , etc . The service is great at JB’S & the atmosphere is relaxed & comfortable here . As I said they are a true old fashioned fish camp & not many are still around but JB’S has stood the test of time because they do it right , good food , good service , great people . Go by & check them out soon & try the delicious catfish nuggets, regular or salt & pepper . So Good .
