I never leave reviews but hoping this saves others from the negative experience and waste of money. Burgers came out on cold buns with ice cold toppings. Cook was too busy with gossip to remember to drop the fries. Save your money.

Terrible service, terrible food. I showed up at 7pm, did not see anyone at the front desk so proceeded to order from a kiosk. I go around to wait for my order and do not see anyone staff and any food cooking. After 5 minutes, someone arrives carefully avoiding any customer contact, so I ask if the restaurant was closed (wondering about my $23 order). The employee says that they’re open but I still don’t see anyone cooking. Finally someone starts cooking after 10 minutes. To my surprise the cook leaves the burger on a (unheated) shelf and no one actually bags my order. After 15 minutes (yes 15!),someone bothers to actually bagging orders for the long line of customers. Clearly no one cared that most orders were red or their order tracking screen. When I finally got my food it was (shocker!) completely cold. Certainly not worth $23. This was first and last time trying Smashburger. If this chain cares at all about their customers and reputation they should simply shut down this location and retrain everyone.

This is not an insult, but are the owners or managers or anyone like that checking out the reviews, especially being inside the DTW I know things are costly, but it may be worth it, especially when every last one of your reviews are not good. I understand why this establishment is at the far end of the terminal. My experience was lackluster at best. I would value my extremely overpriced $18 burger at $3. The bun was cold like it was recently refrigerated. The thin patty was lukewarm and bland, and the bacon was overly tough and too salty. The fries were also lukewarm and withered, missing a fresh presentation. The packaged ketchup was perhaps the best part of the meal. I am disappointed that I decided against other well known chains nearby to try and support this one I was less familiar with.
While ingesting my meal at the seating area 30 feet away, I was treated to the staff members loudly conversing with vulgar language in a way that represents the brand extremely poorly. There were children in the vicinity and I was embarrassed for them to hear some of it.
