I love Temari. It is my all-time favorite restaurant. We moved to Dallas 5 years ago and in a city that huge, haven’t found Japanese food even close to this good. We eat at Temari every time we visit Utah. The Katos are great people and their food is wonderful. The environment is great. It takes planning due to the odd hours and small amount of seating. But totally worth it! My favorite is the tonkatsu.

My grandmother is from Japan, and my dad is so fond of Temari because the food tastes exactly like her home cooking. That’s how authentic it is. Homecooking taste at its finest, the sweetest couple run the place, and if you’re looking to learn Japanese, they will humor you and teach you what they can with every visit. I’m addicted. Make sure to reserve for Saturdays, because it fills up!

A cozy restaurant serving authentic Japanese food like Curry Rice, Udon, and Sashimi (but no sushi here). I had the Katsu Curry the other night for dinner. The portion size was large and included TWO pork cutlets, well worth the 9 bucks I paid. The authentic Japanese family-run atmosphere is especially fun for anyone who has actually eaten at a small diner in Japan. If you bring an Amerikajin they can choose from some tasty familiar options such as Teriyaki Salmon or Teriyaki Chicken.
Be sure to plan ahead – Temari is only open three days a week for lunch and two nights (Friday and Saturday) for dinner. Due to the small size of the restaurant dinner reservations are required.

Amazing, but make sure you understand what it is. Nothing I’ve tasted in all my travels is even close, but they have unique hours and ways of doing things. You serve your self, it is very small. The owners are the nicest people and are amazing chefs. We’ve had tons of Japanese exchange students over the years and they all love this place and say there is nothing else like it! Gotta try.

Intimate setting. Best Japanese food in Utah. Odd business hours, if you can get a reservation, do not let it pass you by. Owned and operated by a Japanese family. Never disappointed.

Best Japanese food around. Hands down. There are no frills, but if you want great Japanese food, and fabulous sashimi . This is the place to go.

There is no service… you serve yourself and bus yourself. It’s tiny and often hard to get into. The owners randomly close for weeks at a time. But the food is SO GOOD that none of that matters.
