One of favorite restaurants in Canton. The food is consistently great. I got the shrimp po boy this time, it was phenomenal! The sauce really pulls it all together. They have the best hush puppies as well. Everything from the vibe, the service, and the food are a 10/10 each time we come.

We love meeting family here for dinner. The atmosphere is lowkey during the week and perfect for catching up. The service is always friendly and helpful. My husband gets something new every time and always enjoys it. I always order the fried shrimp basket and hush puppies because I can’t resist.

Atmosphere was great! The food, beyond the appetizer, was horrible. In addition, the service was awful.
My husband and I went for an early dinner. Arriving, the restaurant was packed and we were promptly seated. Our waitress came and took our drink and appetizer order. We ordered two teas and a pound of the peel and eat red shrimp. The drinks and appetizer were served quickly. This gave us hope that it would be a good dining experience. Once we finished the appetizer we ordered our entrees. My husband ordered the Capt’n platter which comes with fried oysters, grilled shrimp, scallops, and flounder with french fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. I ordered the Jr. Surf and turf which comes with red shrimp (grilled or fried) and a 4 oz filet (medium rare) with one side. I chose fries and added an additional side of bacon cream corn.
While we waited on our meal, a musician set up and began to play his set. It was the highlight of our experience.
After some time the food was delivered to our table. There were issues with our food immediately. My steak was OVER cooked. It was like a piece of leather, the corn was cold, the fries had sugar on them and my husband’s drink was empty. The waitress NEVER came back to check to see if we were good or needed anything. When we were done our waitress came back to bring our ticket. I mentioned to her that the steak (I did not eat) was tough and overcooked. She offered a discount on a dessert. All in all this was a disappointing dining experience! If you choose to go, make sure to order your fries unseasoned and stick to the peel and eat shrimp.

I liked the atmosphere of this bar the most, very laid back beachy feel.
I ordered the salmon and sauteed spinach.
My honest review is that the spinach lacked taste albeit other than salty water, there is no other flavor. Add some garlic and lemon juice or something and less salt in the water.
The salmon was not fishy which means it is good qualoty and fresh but the cooks do not know how to cook salmon properly.
My salmon was dry and overcooked. The seasoning was fine but again too much salt and lacking any carribean flavor. Jerk seasoning on the salmon would have been nice with a kick of spice and sweetness.
Overall, it was fine but after spending close to 30$ on one plate, it was not 30$ worthy. I will not be doing that again. I have yet to find a place that does salmon right other than Tavern house and that was years ago.

Great Starter, But Very Disappointed With Main Course

The atmosphere was nice, and we got seated immediately — no wait time. The starter, honey garlic jalapeño shrimp, was something new for us and was absolutely delicious.

Unfortunately, the main course was a huge letdown. I ordered the Fish Orleans (mahi mahi), but the fish was extremely chewy and hard — nothing like the mahi mahi I’ve had before. It was served over dirty rice, and the taste immediately felt off to me.

We don’t eat beef or any other red meat, only chicken and fish. We specifically asked our server to check with the kitchen about the ingredients in the dirty rice, and she came back saying it only had chicken. Later, I realized it tasted like it had other meat, which was very upsetting because we’ve never eaten that in our lives.

I even took a picture showing how chewy the fish was. On top of that, the server didn’t seem to care or check on how the food was, despite the restaurant not being very busy. She simply passed by our table without asking.

While the starter was great, the main course and service left me very disappointed. Sadly, I won’t be coming back.

Overall, pleasant experience. Quiet Friday afternoon lunch with friends. Wasn’t busy at all and sat immediately. Shared 2 appetizers and we each ordered a meal. Food was good, not fantastic, but good. Military discount is appreciated.

My wife and I visited the Salty Mule for the first time at the suggestions of our son. It was not very busy when we arrived, we were seated promptly.

Our server, Bella, took our drink order, and the drinks arrived quickly. Our food order was taken, and the restaurant was getting filled pretty quickly at that point.

Our food did take just a little bit longer than we hoped to arrive.

As for the food, I had fried scallops, and my wife had grilled scallops. The grilled were a lot better than the fried ones. Be aware that there is a $5 difference in cost between the fried and grilled platters. My wife had fried clams and grilled scallops. Her platter cost $5 more than my platter with fried clams and fried scallops.

The fried clams were nice, I enjoyed them. I also had the creamed corn, it was nice, but it could have been a little more creamy. My wife really enjoyed her green beans.

We were glad to try the Salty Mule, we will visit it again.

The Salty Mule is in my opinion the best restaurant in Canton. Everything I’ve had on the menu is fantastic from chicken, shrimp, grouper, to salmon and steak. Highly recommend it. The $2 beers are great too.

Best Fried Shrimp in Georgia! The creole crab dip and Mushroom Risotto were decadent and delicious! Our server, Joei, was great with recommendations and extremely attentive. We went for lunch and can’t wait to come back in the evening sometime soon.

First time here, but we heard great things. The oysters were fresh and amazing, and the gator bites were the best we’ve had. The Po’ Boy had great ingredients, but we couldn’t get past how bad the bread paired with the sandwich. Too much bread, like pillows around the fish and accoutrements. Service was fantastic though, and we even got a small magic show table side.
