We came here for breakfast brunch. We’ve been here more than once. We have had breakfast at other places down Padre Blvd… this is by far, the best we’ve had. If you’re looking for an authentic breakfast like grandma would make on a weekend morning, look no further! It is a large place with plenty of seating. Their corn and flour tortillas were not prepackaged. It’s the real thing! Especially those pizza sized flour tortillas! They even have Mexican Joyas! We had to have the traditional manzana and ponche flavors.

I loved their food!! They have such a great variety of food and a fantastic flavor. They start you off with a cup of authentic Mexican soup and chips and salsa. Their plates are definitely worth the money and their costumer service is amazing. I have been here several times and can’t get enough of it. We can’t wait to get back and order more of these delicious plates!!

::HIRE MORE HELP::
This is our second time coming and both times, we had to call someone for help after waiting several minutes. Today, we waited about 20 minutes before I got a chance to ask for assistance since the servers kept passing our table without acknowledging us and I saw a large crowd coming in. I ordered water and my husband water and coffee. She brought us one water and one coffee. After about 7 minutes waiting for the other water, I asked her for it… i got it after 20 minutes when i asked another server. You can definitely see the lack of leadership or management. Hire more help and train your staff to communicate “we’ll be right with you”, etc. A simple acknowledgement goes a long way.
I don’t blame the staff because I can see that they’re working hard. There are about three tables of 7 people and one with 16; there are three groups of people that had been waiting at the door for a good 30 minutes before being seated.
Tip: scope the place when you walk in. If it’s pretty packed, have patience. If there’s not a lot of people, enjoy! The food is pretty decent.

This is my kind of place. Being from south central Texas we love and know good authentic Mexican food and boys this is where it’s at. The tortillas are HUGE. I’m talking 12-15 inches in circumference. And that’s how big their tacos are. Came here twice while on vacation. Would highly and definitely recommend this place.

Apparently according to most reviews this is a hit or miss relevant to staffing. If staffing is limited you will wait but the results are good. All the plates are delicious and breakfast is cheap compared to the high end places such as Grapevine, Josefine’s and Yummy’s. A huge cheap great tasting Mexican breakfast is guaranteed. Their tacos are huge and inexpensive too. My personal issue is the dull floors. They look old and faded. Some wax would greatly improve this place not to mention better decor is highly needed. To the owner: Make your place look nicer and keep up your staffing and I predict nothing but success. Save your money and eat at Los Marisoles.
Also Breakfast all day at no extra charge and lunch in the morning if you like. To bad they close early. Monster tortillas.

Wow!!!!! Came here not expecting much by what the reviews said, but I was wrong. Got a parillada for 2 and a carne guisada taco. Started with chips and salsa. Mmmm the salsa was warm and there were two kinds, a red that was like a ranchero sauce and a green one with a good kick. Homemade fried chips to go with the salsas, and it was a hit. So far so good. First to show was the fajitas, a big plate of meat and a half sauteed onion. I was like hmmm, just meat and onion on a plate. Then she brought us a bowl of charro beans. Started with the beans, ok ok not bad not bad at all. Then I made a corn tortilla taco of fajitas onion and some more tacerra salsas and I was in food heaven. The meat was melt in your mouth tender and the salsas were fire, but not in a bad fire, just enough to want more. Now came the carne guisada taco. Holy $h!+, this thing was the size of the plate. My wife said that was the first time in my life I was speechless. I told the waitress if this was a small taco and she said “yes we usually make the tortillas a lot bigger”. I tasted the carne guisada and wow it was even more tender than the fajitas and was soooooo good. Only one big problem, how do I get that over stuffed tortilla in my belly. Had to do the George Castanza(if you know you know) and eat it with a fork. Ordered two more tortillas one for my wife and one to go. Finished what we could and brought the rest for dinner more like a feast there was that much left over. I will be coming back here next time I’m in SPI. But if you are near by and want some good Mexican food you need to try this place. I added pictures but they do not do it justice.

Had a simple breakfast. They hardly had customers so service was quick. I was surprised to have to pay extra for a flower tortilla but if you look at the picture it’s a huge tortilla.

the plates were very generous, you definitely get a good amount of food for the price. it’s not too expensive & it tastes great! the flauta plate comes with 5, rice beans avocado cheese & lettuce. the enchilada plate is not your usual sauce & cheese.. the red enchiladas are VERY spicy, i ate one and couldn’t finish the rest. we were warned that the green enchiladas were very hot, but they both are very very HOT. so unless you like hot stuff i wouldn’t recommend ordering. the rice & flautas were great! the staff was a little off.. but maybe they were just having a bad day. i do wanna come back and try something new, there aren’t very many mexican restaurants on the island but this one is pretty good!
