Nice place
Was a little disappointed in the burrito that I was charged $17+ mostly beans and rice no meat. Tacos weren’t much better but at least had meat in them.
I’m sure the food and customer service was impacted by being open on Christmas so a plus for that.
Overall a nice atmosphere and decent service and food – just don’t set high expectations when ordering.
Maybe better next time for me

visiting from out of town and decided to try this spot as we drove past. my family and i had high expectations but unfortunately they were not met. first, we were a little thrown off by the price for tacos… $6 per taco. the birria tacos came with no cilantro or onions, they weren’t stuffed with toppings or big protein portions (for $6!). the tortillas were ice cold, the onions and cabbage weren’t chopped uniformly (lots of big chunks) and the pico de gallo was mushy and ice cold… i’m going to assume it was frozen previously. the birria tasted off, very mushy in the mouth. the protein was warm but the tortilla and toppings were all cold. they brought out one of our orders with the wrong tortillas and they remade them with the correct tortillas but whoever brought them out with the correct tortillas had attitude and wasn’t very friendly, gave my dad a dirty look when placing it down in front of him. the younger hispanic waitress who helped us was very nice so no complaints about her but we were disappointed with the food quality. i’m not trying to leave a complete negative review but for the price of the food, the quality did not match. at all.

Was driving around catching up with an old friend. We kept asking each other where do you want to go get something to eat and she brought up these guys. I told her I had never been there before. When we got there it was pretty laid back. It was 8pm on a Tuesday. The girls were really nice. Originally I wanted a steak burrito but they had run out of steak so I ordered a chicken quesadilla. Cheyenne went out of her way to make the island sauce for my quesadilla. She just told me it would take a little longer but that was fine. That gave my friend and I more time to catch up. On e the food was done Alicia brought it out to us with a smile on her face. I normally can eat a whole quesadilla by myself and I wish I could have finished this one because it was good. (And I’m picky) The salsa was perfect and the queso was good. I normally don’t like queso because it’s too spicy. But this stuff was authentic. Every other “Mexican” place I have been to tries to hard to make everything spicy. But this stuff wasn’t. It was just right

This was sadly our first and probably last visit. We came here while visiting St Augustine. The food was nothing special, pretty small portions and not particularly memorable. I have had better tacos at a food truck.

All 3 of us agree that the service was also mediocre. You place your order at the counter and once it’s ready, they bring it to you. It’s a small place with a few tables. We normally like to support mom and pops local businesses so we thought we’d try it. The value was not there when St Augustine has so many good restaurants.

Really wanted to love this locally owned cute place in the heart of downtown. Unfortunately the food lacked luster. We ordered a variety of foods which all fell short. Echoing other reviewers, all entrees lacked protein and flavor. Tacos had 2 small spoonfuls of meat, that amounted to a dismal 1/4 inch thickness when laid on it’s side. Unfortunately this cute little place could never go head- to -head with local hard hitters like Mojos who packs their tacos with protein or Taco Shops always flavorful tacos. C’mon Gringos, up your game, we are rooting for you!

On the 10 of February, I went here with my son (who is autistic) and my BFF. Chris and Allee were very accommodating. Chris went above and beyond and was really kind. I left with a very happy boy.

Gringo Tacos was amazing! Hands down the best chips and salsa — the chips were crispy and fresh, and the salsa tasted so homemade and delicious that we had to order a second round. All of the food was incredible, and my kids loved their quesadillas. The lady who served us (I believe she may be the owner) was so attentive and sweet, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was inviting, the music was great, and everything just felt so welcoming. We will definitely be back! May God bless!

We just moved to town and came in to eat around 6pm with our kids. Super friendly gal greeted us and got us seated. We ordered nachos, birria quesadilla, birria tacos, and something else. Everything was really good! I thought my dish (birria quesadilla) was the best. Portion sizes were BIG so I’m excited for leftovers.
The chips weren’t anything special (cold) and the salsa was spicy, but it was towards the end of their hours. Their kids meals were reasonably priced ($6 including a drink!) and they had a soda fountain, not just cooler drinks, so we could get refills if we were super thirsty.

I was hesitant to try it because of the negative reviews, but we all really liked it. Service was fast and very friendly. The only TV was showing a channel that played only funny videos of animals, which was a great change from news or sports and a big hit with all my kids. Music was nice, not too loud. Bathrooms were clean. Honestly I’m thrilled my husband made us go, because I love a local taco joint! We’ll be back!

This is our second time here, first time we came in and got the birria burrito and birria griller, which were absolutely amazing. Came in tonight and my wife got the Angus tacos gringo style which are phenomenal and I decided to try something new on the menu, birria ramen, which is now my new favorite. Chips, salsa and queso are always on point. And service has never failed, everyone is nice and inviting. Definitely recommend and will be back

Located in the heart of downtown St Augustine sits this perfect little taco place!! The seating and atmosphere are perfect and so is the music that plays!! But none of that comes close to the amazing tacos and burritos they serve!! If you get a chance stop by and try the Birria Tacos!! Absolutely amazing!!!
