The food was delicious. Large portion sizes and affordable prices. The sushi roll was huge and tasted so good. We loved everything we had. Our waitress was wonderful. The lady at the register was so friendly. Great overall experience!

I had stir fry chicken and it was delicious. The snow peas were crispy and the chicken was grilled. The atmosphere is very casual. The family owned restaurant is very good at making your dining experience pleasant and savory.

My family and I ate at Yamato in Middleboro a few months ago and it was wonderful and I have been craving the fried rice since then. Today I went and got some from the location in Berea and it was awful. There was no carrots, peas, eggs, or onions things that normally come in fried rice. I think they took steamed white rice and fried it. I found clumps of white rice. Most of it had no taste except burnt. I tried to eat as much as possible because I hate to waste food but it has made me sick to my stomach. The only good thing I have to say is the portion is HUGE but that doesn’t do any good if you can’t even eat the food. We also got an order of sping rolls which were about the size of my husband’s middle finger in circumference. They had next to no filling so if you order that just be prepared to eat wrappers.

We have been going to Yamato for years. The food quality is consistently some of the BEST Asian food I’ve ever had. It’s a fresher, lighter style than Chinese and compared to other Japanese restaurants in the area it’s our favorite. Like all small businesses in town the serving staff is ever changing. At times you may experience a rookie server but the food is always GREAT!!

Service was absolutely outstanding. We had been struggling with doordash for half an hour and gave up… called the restaurant 20 minutes before closing time and apologized profusely for the late order. The time of the order did not matter to them. Their service, food, and presentation, all of it was still perfect!!
There’s nothing worse than craving a special dinner and getting it, only to be disappointed. THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
We ordered the filet mignon bento box. The steak was cooked medium/medium plus, so juicy, and the most tender hibachi steak I’ve ever had. The flavor was outstanding. I have no other words.
And the amount of food??? My husband is a large body builder framed man… and he couldn’t even finish half of it. It’s all the bang for your buck, and more.
Don’t waste your time going anywhere else!! Absolutely phenomenal.

I don’t usually leave reviews but the meat my husband ordered was noticeably old tasting (like about to expire) and when we told the waiter when he asked if we wanted a box for the untouched food that it was inedible bc of the end-of-life meat he said “okay”
I also was charged for an item I didn’t receive. I made them take it off but this is basic stuff they are messing up !
If I’m being picky our entrees also came out 20 min apart from each other (this is not an exaggeration) – we both ordered normal things so this was very disappointing.
Y’all have a cool interior but just show some more care about food quality, service and cleanliness (sticky floors ewww).
Maybe this was on me but I love supporting independent businesses. Hope y’all get your issues sorted out!

I came for dinner, and I was very impressed with the experience!
I ordered the fried potstickers for an appetizer, and they were delicious! Cooked well and paired with a tasty sauce. For my main dinner, I had the NY Strip Steak Yaki Soba. It was very good, everything was cooked well and jam packed with flavor. I also felt that the portion size for what I paid was good.
The only downside of the experience was the atmosphere. It was very quiet and a bit odd to be in. They had very faint music playing, but it perhaps would have been better to be a bit louder. This is just me, though.
Overall, it was a good experience, and I will certainly be back!

I hate to write a negative review because the people were pretty nice but it’s just not worth the money. As soon as I walked in I seen a huge bug that looked like a roach and I’m sure it’s not the only one, see in photo. And the food just wasn’t good. There’s not much else I can say. There’s one sushi restaurant in Richmond I usually go to because it’s so good and compared to that sushi it’s just awful. Just not very fresh.
