The fish quality is next level. Incredibly fresh, perfectly cut, and served at the ideal temperature. The rice is seasoned flawlessly, and the nori is crisp exactly the way it should be. Nothing feels rushed or careless every detail is intentional.
The service is impeccable. The staff knows the menu inside and out, makes great recommendations, and keeps the pace smooth without making you feel rushed.
Overall, the experience is solid from start to finish quality, consistency, presentation, and vibe. If you’re looking for serious, high-quality handrolls in LA, this is the spot.
Highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back.
It was opening time so they were not busy.
I ordered the cucumber salad that arrived soaked in way too much sauce…and I’ve eaten this dish before… I couldn’t eat it as the brine was too strong so I told the server.. and I told him he can take it off my table. He just said ok. Didn’t ask to even try and make a new one, and of course charged me for a dish I couldn’t eat. I said ok, maybe it’s not their problem I didn’t like something I ordered I’ll pay (although as mentioned- I’ve been there before and this was not the usual taste).
However,
Later on I ordered spicy blue fin with jalapeño handroll and it arrived with tobiko. When I told him I couldn’t eat tobiko and that it wasn’t mentioned as part of the items he said that in some cases they don’t mention all the items for the hand roll.. of course I paid for it too although I could not eat it. He didn’t even care to apologize. So basically I paid 44$ for 3 hand rolls and a cucumber salad appetizer but ate 2 hand rolls (that were ok but felt less fresh than in the past)..
We went on a Friday night when the weather was perfect, so everywhere was busy—but the experience here really stood out. Our server Janice was amazing: super knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming (and I don’t say that lightly).
I love supporting local businesses, and this place reminded me why. I’ve been a bit spoiled lately by bigger sushi spots that are packed and very expensive. Here, you get excellent food, great service, and a relaxed vibe without the inflated prices. Truly a keeper.
I’m not being paid or incentivized in any way—just sharing an honest experience. I don’t post reviews often, but this one felt worth it. The photos are exactly how the food came out, no staging—just great presentation and even better flavor.
Shoutout to the owner, the staff, and especially Janice. Definitely recommend supporting this spot. ✨
A great way to end a day at the Farmer’s Market and The Grove.
