Typical small town bar and grill. But the food is excellent and the service is warm and friendly. We ordered the daily special of pork fritter sandwich and fries and a patty melt w onion rings. Pork sandwich was (big) palm sized. The patty melt was equally large. Bothe the coated fries and onion rings were crispy and tasty. Bring cash for a discount and plan to play on any one of the many bar games, including shuffleboard, while you wait for your food. Be sure to get a 1919 root beer to drink. SO GOOD!!

On our hike on the American Discovery Trail, we took a lunch break in the town of Raymond, where we saw a sign for Harry’s Tavern. We knew we would spend the evening in Valparaiso, so we decided to eat at Harry’s once we arrived. What a lovely bunch of people. The food was excellent, great portion sizes. I got the chicken strip dinner, and my boyfriend got the patty melt special. We ended up meeting the owners and their daughters, and once they found out that we were walking across the country, they were really helpful and gave us all kinds of useful advice. Very hospitable, super nice people, so glad we came to eat here!

If you’re into small town atmosphere and great fish then this is the place for you. All through lent they offer a variety of fish, chicken, salad bar and dessert bar that taste like momma just made it. As a bonus it’s all you can eat. Well worth the drive to Valparaiso.

Best small town fish buffet experience in the area. I would come just for the homemade dumplings and kraut but the Pollak and Cod are also amazing as well. You will not leave hungry!!! This family owned establishment touts friendliness and hometown atmosphere. Come for the food stay for a drink with friends.

Great place to stop by and grab a burger if your feeling it. The people are very friendly and they definitely have the family feel. If you stop in at Harry’s I’m sure they will more than satisfy. I love the food and drinks are reasonably priced.

We went for the first fish fry of Lent, and this little gem out in the country was well worth the drive from Omaha. Everything was hot and non greasy…fish tends to be that way but the 3 choices they offered were hot, fresh and crisp. And the salad bar was well stocked to boot. Add in some chocolate cream pie and it was a perfect meal. We plan to get back before Easter. Highly recommend this gem!
