As always, the food was excellent! We have been eating here for years, literally. We don’t save this dining experience just for special events, but when special events arise, this is likely our choice of location to celebrate, and it has been for 9 or more years. We found it quite by accident, but it was serendipitous. And to top that off… we are the one of the most popular families in our rather large neighborhood because we’ve led so many others to Papas! Happy eating!

It was my husband’s & my first time at Papa’s Place. The Hostess was very good, great sense of humor. However, after a ling 30 minute wait, we were seated. All the while a private, rather large, sectioned off area held a private party (included restaurant employees in it) & there was a couple waiting just after us as well. The waitess came & we placed our order for water (with lemon) & our food. Our salads came on a small plate ($5.99 if ordered separately) that was of average taste (included one grape tomato & one black olive! ). Very small amount.
A few minutes later, the waitress finally caught eyes with me. I asked if we could please have our water? She was seemingly shocked she’d forgotten it. She brought our two glasses of water but no lemon. She gave us one straw! We asked about bread as other tables had a basket of bread? She said sure I can bring you bread, that he was just making more, and that’s why she hadn’t brought any.
A few minutes later she returned. My husband asked if we could have some lemon which she brought & I asked for a second straw which she had to go get.
The food came maybe 10 minutes later. Our waitress said for us to be careful as the plates were hot. Most of the food however, was barely warm.
The eggplant parmigiana was hot and good. However, the sauce was thin and scant. The pasta, chicken parmigiana, and lasagna was very average, nothing to write home about. I cannot believe all this was house-made. It all came out so fast & some of it (exception of the eggplant) tasted a bit like just thawed & heated food to us.
After our waitress brought our food, she NEVER returned! Our tiny glasses of water were empty.
Another waitress brought us two rolls (not quite done) after we asked a second time! She was very nice and was trying to help though she had her own customers to take care of.
Again, no one came for a long time. I finally had to get up & wait at the front counter to get a to-go box & to get them to bring our check!
Sadly, we were not impressed. We were so disappointed & disillusioned. When we had hoped we had found a new jewel to come to again and again, instead it was a stone that landed in a thud & left a bad taste in our mouths!
It was difficult, but sharing this honest review was important because I hope big improvements are made! I’ve always been told that The Silent Customer is the worst customer & I want to be the best customer.

This is a cool little place, and my brother’s favorite restaurant. They make a pretty good steak and do actually cook it properly. It’s BYO beer and wine, which may seem weird at first but does really keep the final bill down. Their garlic bread is delicious and they have some yummy side salads too.

I took my girlfriend to eat here the day after Valentine’s Day and it was so nice. The atmosphere and mood was really romantic and the staff was great. The food was excellent and the prices wasn’t that bad. We will be back again to try something new. Thanks so much to the friendly staff.

I order out for the first time. I was a little disappointed. I paid for extra cheese on my pizza and I did not even see cheese. I was suppressed about not having even a regular amount of cheese. I want my cheese. The noodles did not have much of a taste and the sauce is too thick. Did not care for the garlic bread. I may get another pizza and be more specific that I like a lot of cheese. Price is reasonable I guess they are saving money with cheese.

We are new in town and decided to go for a nice Italian meal, we went on Sunday the 16th of July…. what a mistake. We got there at 11:00, they were not open still sweeping the floor. They finally opened around 11:10 and we went in. The waitress was very unhappy and it showed. She was not helpful and had a bad, bad attitude. As others started coming in, she seemed more upset. Around 11:30 another waitress shows up and she starts working some of the tables.
We ordered, ate and then had to wait an unbelievable amount of time to get our check. Then we left.
In my husband’s opinion, no one knew what was going on. I will never go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They need waitresses that are happy to work and earn a living instead of sulking the whole time.

Amazing Italian food in Daphne. They have a new chef and the plates are delicious and beautifully presented. Prices are great too and remember to bring your own wine or beer as it’s a BYOB restaurant!!! Great place!!

First time for me to visit this establishment. 6 of us had a ‘reservation’ for 630 on Valentine’s Day. We were seated promptly and it was predictably busy. Our waitress was either new, or never had any training. She was unable to take our appetizer order without marked confusion, and our waters and beverages came out at very different times. We waited 2 hours for our food, and when it was served, most of the dishes were cold. My filet and potatoes were cold, but another’s fish dish was hot, while another’s pasta dish was also cold. After 2 hours of waiting, I opted not to have another steak cooked – I didn’t want to wait another 2 hours to eat. I did finish off a bottle of wine while waiting on my food though. Went home and ate junk food! Never going back.

I’m not even sure how this place has ANY good reviews. The two entrees ordered were entirely inedible. Veal was overcooked until it was the texture of leather. Eggplant was overcooked; the breading soggy. Meatballs tasted like. . . meat. I’m not convinced the marinara sauce WASNT Ragu. The lasagna uncannily resembled Stouffer’s frozen lasagna. The entrees both came out at nearly room temperature; the only warmth likely provided by heat lamps they sat under long enough for the breading to be soggy.
Service was subpar. Our waitress took an overly long time to check on us, having maybe 2-3 tables. We had no choice but to send the plates back. I’d told her when she took away the plates that we didn’t want more because I’d just gotten called in to work. She took her sweet time coming back with the check. The manager on duty didn’t bother to come to our table to check on us after we sent back our food. I thought that was standard procedure for proper customer service.
We weren’t the only ones displeased with our meals. The 4-top and 2-top next to us were both commenting negatively. One remarked that his food tasted like a frozen dinner.
The only redemption. . . the fried green beans. They came out promptly and were hot. The dill sauce very good and the green beans tasted fresh.

Horrible. Waited 30 min on our drinks. Had to walk out to my car for a sip of water. Waitress was nice but clueless. Waited two hours for rubbery veil and tough chicken. Pasta was a spit in the face to any Italian restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. Would rather eat at Olive Garden.
