The bar and cafe are both excellent and amenities are super nice!! I was quite impressed with the high-tech juke box, fancy lighting, etc. in the bar area. The bartender too was very knowledgeable in mixology — which too was uncommon for this area (but don’t come here expecting them to know Las Vegas cocktail recipes LOL).
Now to the restaurant…. The service here is super friendly and the quality and consistency was impressive. The food they serve here is delicious! Their portion sizes are very large (so much food!!). On Saturday nights they have Prime Rib on the Menu and they can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with that served in fancy steak houses in big cities! Their pizza is excellent (in Montana?!)!! The chicken wings are big and tasty and prepared in a very unique fashion — positively unconventional! About six of us went there for breakfast this morning and every item was deliciously prepared, out of this world and TOO MUCH FOOD!! I talked to the owner on the restaurant, Mike, who said that “If you leave here hungry, it’s your fault.” He is right!!
Every time I visit this place, I tell myself that I’m going to take pictures of the food to post. But I end up forgetting to take pics (I think because the food is so delicious that I forget until I’m half-way-done!)
I HIGHLY recommend this hidden treasure of Montana!! It is worth the drive to go check this place out!
Service: The owner (lady) is a loud and foul mouthed drunk that only serves the locals and her clan well. I regularly hear her talking about her staff behind their backs and other patrons (highly unprofessional) Her staff is generally pretty awesome, except when she walks in, it’s all about her and her husband (who use to regularly be drink, drinking with his kids).
Food: It was better but has dropped in quality the last 2-3 years (a lot of staff turnover).
I hope this family reads this and starts to focus on the clients (relationship) and getting to know them, instead of having a family and friends drinking/partying hole.
Wise River Regular!
As soon as we arrived, we were bluntly told “no dogs,” with no courtesy, no apology, and no interest in understanding the situation. The staff’s attitude was cold and visibly unwelcoming, with a look that made us feel like we didn’t belong.
Normally, I would’ve taken the time to show the certification and clarify our rights. But faced with such immediate rudeness, I didn’t see the point. I chose to leave, and take my money elsewhere. They didn’t deserve it.
And not too busy
