Our reservation was @ 7:30 p.m. and there were five of us total, though one person was running late and arrived around 8:15pm.
Four of us placed our order about 8pm and when our fifth guest arrived we added her order without any issue.
Shortly after, one person in our group was informed that the restaurant was out of salmon for her salad, so she decided to change her order to a pizza. While disappointing, we understood and moved on.
By about 8:55 p.m., we still had not received any food, I spoke with a host to ask about the delay. She apologized and said she would check with our server. When she returned, she told us our order had only been placed about 35 minutes earlier, which we knew was incorrect, but we were told our food would be coming out shortly. We were considering leaving but decided to wait a bit longer as we were all hungry.
Eventually, two plates and a few sides came out (out of five meals.) Unfortunately, both were incorrect. One was a burger ordered with no onions. When it arrived, it had onions inside. When this was brought to the server’s attention, upon checking he explained that they thought “no onions” meant no “raw onions”, and that onions were already mixed into the meat and the burger couldn’t be remade without them. Needless to say, she couldn’t eat it.
The second plate was a filet mignon ordered medium-well, and it was clearly undercooked (I’ll be attaching a photo). At that point, it was too much. Only two people had received food, both meals were wrong, and it was unclear how much longer the rest of us would be waiting.
To be fair, the side of parmesan fries I received were decent, and another guest enjoyed the broccolini. The birthday girl ordered a lemon drop-style cocktail and really liked it. However, those positives didn’t outweigh the overall experience.
Our server mentioned that there had been a party of 20 before us, which caused delays, but that doesn’t excuse incorrect orders, long wait times, or poor communication. When I went to let the host know we were leaving, staff appeared to just be getting ready to put our pizzas into the oven nearly an hour after ordering.
We ultimately decided to leave without eating dinner. Afterward, the restaurant did call the birthday girl (she made the reservations) to apologize and offered a $50 gift card, which was appreciated, but considering there were five of us and none of us actually got to eat a proper meal, it didn’t fully make up for the experience.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and potential, but unfortunately the service, timing, and execution made this a very disappointing night especially for a birthday celebration
We had the Salmon Cerviche to start. (Appetizer special). Really great flavor and nice summertime addition. Then we split the Beet Salad w/goat cheese and the Lamb Lollypops. The salad had a generous portion of beets and the dressing was spot on. I could have used a bit more goat cheese but it could be that I’m obsessed with goat cheese. I’ll ask for more next time. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the had a really yummy crunchy coating. We decided on the Strawberry Fizz for our cocktail and it did not disappoint. I heard the Berry cocktail is a good one too.
Overall.. there is nothing like this restaurant anywhere in the Central Valley and I look forward to supporting them and trying everything in the menu!
Tried their iceberg salad, and it was definitely worth it . I would get it again, and it’s a must try.
The short rib was okay. It’s just roasted beef, and I wouldn’t get it again.
The dessert was delicious. I don’t remember the name but I would get it again if you’re a chocolate lover!!
