Love AVA pizza. Prob the best pizza I’ve had in Charlotte. Got the pepperoni and it had lots of pepperoni. Cooked perfectly. It had great flavor and wasn’t too salty. Going to try a white pizza next. I do wish they would add some other things to the menu…. Garlic cheese bread would be great, or add 2 different salad options. Hopefully they add it at some point. Friendly staff. They are pretty busy so you will wait for your pizza if you are there when OH is busy. So wait time for a table wasn’t any but waited for the pizza for 10 mins prob a lil’ over.

We made our way to Charlotte this afternoon and found ourselves at optimist Hall. We couldn’t make up our minds- I’m talking me and the husband so we split up & each picked up what we craved. I found myself gravitating to pizza & Ava. I asked the young lady at the register what her favorite pizza was and she said margarita so I went with it. I swear it felt like I was back in Italy in Napoli. Yes, it was that good. I only wish they had a more fresh basil on the pizza , it would really make a difference. And that sauce, oh yes! Just tasted so fresh!
I’ll be back to try the pepperoni pictured here. Mangia translated in Italian means Eat up!

The first pizza was burnt to a crisp, the basil was basically ashes. When I went to ask for a new pizza , the girl said that’s how the pizza is supposed to be cooked. yeah.. no.. pizza is not supposed to be burnt. They said would make another pizza that was “lightly” cooked and we that would receive a text message when it was ready, well we didn’t get a text message. When we went to check on where the pizza was, the girl said it had been ready for awhile and she just walked away. The “lightly” cooked pizza was basically raw inside. Unless you like either burnt or raw pizza, I suggest you look elsewhere. Unfortunately, we had not taken a picture of the burnt pizza. Customer service definitely need some improvement and an attitude adjustment.

We love Optimist Hall. Great concept and lots of choices. We ordered the mushroom white pizza. It was pretty good. The crust was amazing. I would like a tad less ricotta but super tasty.

Phenomenal! Optimist hall is loaded with stellar options and I usually go specifically for one vendor. I’ve walked by AVA a few times and today was the chance to try it. This place was phenomenal and refreshingly different from other pizza options.
I have to comment on the other reviews… It’s Neapolitan pizza and the cheese isn’t your daughters usual chucky cheese frozen blend- it’s FRESH, dense, and rich! And I saw complaints about price… my pizza was $13 and I’m not sure you can get through a Wendy’s drive through without paying a similar price anymore. Get over yourself
All the toppings were amazing on my sausage pizza and the fennel steals the show as an aromatic flavor to balance the thickness of everything else.
Ava has been added on my go-to list!

What a disappointment. The cheese falls right off the slice. The pepperonis are burnt and they just throw like 20 on each slice. This is the bare minimum you can do for a pizza. Nothing special about it and definitely not worth the price.
