Social Profile:

The first Aloha Salads opened its doors in May of 2006 in the quiet beach town of Kailua, Hawaii. From that day forward, local customers and visitors to Hawai’i have lined up to enjoy the healthy offerings of locally grown Hawaiian fruits and vegetables, gourmet meats and cheeses and delectable home-made dressings. Although there have been additions to the menu since then, the staples of Aloha Salads like the Aloha Passion with Grilled Steak and the Ono Island Ahi remained unchanged. Aloha Salads has expanded since 2006, opening stores in Kahala Mall, Kapolei Commons Pearl Ridge Center, Windward Mall, and Mililani, but its core mission remains the same—to serve healthy, fresh, locally grown food of the finest quality at affordable prices.

Relaxed health- & eco-conscious eatery serving locally sourced salads & sandwiches.

Finally broke out of the Paniolo’s mold to try it here. Ordered a small ahi salad. I asked if there was any dairy or gluten as I’m allergic. I was told, “uh, I don’t think so.” No effort to verify, and not very reassuring.
Was also asked if I wanted a bag and utensils, which I declined. Said I was going to sit outside and asked if they would bring it out. Yes. Well, after people came and went with their orders it turned out mine had been bagged and put on the shelf.
I opened it and was bummed to see it was 70% lettuce. About 1/8 of an avocado, 1/8c of mango, a few tiny pieces of tuna, and lots and lots of lettuce. Also sweetened coconut shred, which was surprising since they call themselves healthy.
And as others have mentioned, no way of mixing without spilling all contents out. Not terribly excited by the order. Dressing was so bland and watery I didn’t bother with it.
They made me appreciate Paniolo’s even more, so back I go!
Also, weird that the two vegan options listen online aren’t shown on the wall menu.

Spent $20+ on this salad and very disappointed. Found many rotting pieces of lettuce that I couldn’t even eat half of the meal. This isn’t the first time, normally have to take out a couple pieces here and there, but this amount and severity should have been insanely obvious. The quality of Aloha Salads in Kailua has been on the decline

This place cannot call themselves a salad place. They merely put ingredients together. It is very lazy to not even mix the ingredients for you. Anyone can put ingredients on a plate, but that’s not a salad. Granted- the ingredients were fresh and tasted good, but it was almost impossible to mix without spilling food over onto the side off the plate and I don’t understand why they can’t figure out how to mix your salad in a bowl for you before giving it to you. It seems like the minimal thing to do. Really do recommend that they start doing that in the future. Paid $18 for that.

Delicious, made to order salads. We were a party of 4 and everyone loved the salads. Fresh ingredients, great combinations of flavors, fast & friendly service. Only a few tables available, but definitely worth a visit if you are in the mood for salads. Highly recommend, would definitely visit again when in the area. Thanks Aloha Salads!

I honestly love this place! It’s such a nice treat. I would go more often but since raising their prices AND decreasing the quantity of salad toppings it’s been very discouraging for a customer who has seen great quality slowly get reduced in quantity. I ordered the goddess salad for the first time because I was craving avocado and the goddess dressing. This salad does not come with a meat protein. I added chicken to it which turned it into a $20 salad. That fine, I’ll will happily pay for good quality. When I got home to eat it I was very disappointed. There was hardly any of the ingredients. This wasn’t even half of an avocado. Reference pictures to see how advertised vs how I was served. I didn’t eat anything yet when this picture was taken. I just dug through the the lettuce to see if there were any ingredients hidden. Sad to say there was not….

I got the large aloha passion with steak. It was very tasty, but I wished I had asked for it tossed. They charged me a dollar extra for extra dressing, which is weird considering they don’t even make all their dressings in house. The girls there were very nice, and they gave reasonably quick service. The restaurant is depressingly sterile. Overall, I would go back again because my wife works there.

I absolutely LOVE Aloha Salads, I’m always grabbing them either to go, delivery, or dining in. The food presentation is always beautiful. The ingredients are fresh, flavorful, and fantastic. What’s good on the menu? Literally everything! But I always return to their Maui Mozzarella and pita hummus wrap! If there is a line, trust that it is worth the wait. It means it’s that good

Stopped in for a healthy dinner and enjoyed the outdoor seating and a neighboring restaurant had music, The ambiance was nice and relaxing. Front counter girl was so quiet we barely could hear her when ordering. Food was ehhh/underwhelming, chicken pineapple “wrap” was flavorful & the curry “wrap” was served cold. The reason I use quotes around “wrap” is because these weren’t wraps at all, they were pitas folded in half. The window signs and signs hanging in the store show a big tortilla wrap and we were really looking forward to that. However what we got was a small pita taco. Both fell wide open when we sat down & was finger food after that. At $12-14/ea for a pita taco it was pretty spendy, a let down that there was no portability like a typical wrap. Not kid eating friendly at all. Probably not in the future dinner plans.

Crazy good salads with so much variety. They ask you if you want a bag and utensils. We didn’t, because we bring our own bamboo utensils and don’t need a bag. I live that they ask to reduce waste ❤️

I hate that I have to do this on a review. I would much prefer if the business provided an email address on their website. Anyway, I am a customer at the Kailua location. In general, I really like this place! One complaint that keeps me from going more often is their house made dressing: it’s basically flavored water. They water it down so much, it’s barely worth putting on the salad. I don’t carry dressing in my purse, so I have to get it. I’ll sometimes even pay for a second dressing, but it doesn’t even matter because it all just drains to the bottom of the bowl. Photo is of the dressing remaining from a large Aloha Passion salad (with a purchased second dressing) And mind you, I did my best to soak the salad in dressing with every bite. There shouldn’t be that much left over. They’re just being cheap and stretching the dressing by adding too much water, and it’s super disappointing. Makes me just want to go next door for a sandwich or burrito half the time.
