I love finding places like this while traveling! Friendly staff and owner. The bacon egg and gouda biscuit was FABULOUS! The biscuit was large, buttery and flaky just as I hoped. And the coffee was great! All complete with the coolest nostalgic atmosphere that makes a person want to stay awhile. Thanks!

I had such a great first experience at Behind the Time Bakery! I tried the dedicated frappe, the pig and pimento sandwich, and a slice of pumpkin bread and everything was absolutely fantastic. The flavors were fresh and comforting, and each item felt thoughtfully made. What really stood out to me was the energy and atmosphere. When I mentioned it was my first visit, the lady at the front was so kind and helpful, even while training a new worker. That level of warmth and attention made me feel really welcome.Overall, delicious food, great drinks, and genuinely friendly service I’ll definitely be back!

Have been coming here daily for years! This business is ran by great- down to earth people. The food is delicious and made to perfection with recipes that you can taste effort put into each dish. The atmosphere of the building is more than welcoming- with such an antique and “homey” feel. The coffees here are hands down the best around, with so many different choices of flavors and brews.
This bakery is a favorite for our family and we will continue to come here for as long as they’ll have us!

Waiting was a bit longer on Saturday morning during S-Fest weekend, but it wasn’t terrible.
This was my first time going and I will for sure be back.
Farmhouse sandwich was 10/10. Cold brew with cold foam and caramel was 10/10 (better than Starbucks, IMO). Also enjoyed the blueberry muffin!
Can’t wait to come back the next time we are in town. Loooooved the vintage vibe the most!
Also, the prices were extremely affordable for the level of quality everything was. Highly recommend!

Behind the Times Bakery is absolutely amazing! It is such a cute place with a great atmosphere. Bridget is great at making suggestions if you like to try new drinks. Morgan’s recipes are delicious. I recommend the Cold Brew, Miss Hazel, Carmel White Chocolate Scones, Bacon Egg & Gouda sandwich, and I could go on. Such an amazing addition to Tell City!

We stayed at a place near this bakery and I couldn’t help but check it out. So many people coming and going from here it intrigued me. We had a three night stay nearby and every morning we went here to see what kind of new morning treats await.
The coffee is delicious and the muffins are just amazingly satisfying. Cinnamon rolls were added on Saturday morning and they are crazy big and tasty. My son tried the french toast and ate the whole thing… It’s going to be sad leaving here as I’ll miss the morning ritual of grabbing coffee from this quaint little bakery.
This is an excellent place to eat with great prices. Delightful decorations make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time.

I was at the shop with my grandson who at 4 years old doesn’t understand not to put his hands on glass door. The lady, and that is using that term loosely, instructed me that he should not be touching the glass.
I’ll apologized and instructed my grandson please don’t touch the glass.
We decided to at the counter, which of course has a glass top and yes my grandson accidentally put his hands on the glass trying to look and see what was what was a available ,this person rudely went to the back get a bottle of glass cleaner and paper towels and set it right in front of me. Course I was ready to walk out that point but my grandson wanted something to eat and something to drink. She told me that she was closing in 10 minutes and we needed to hurry.
I did a little research and found out that this is a third generation bakery. They will not make it to 4th generation with the way that they treat their customers at this point. I worked in a family business for 30 years where we had glass cases and people touch the glass all the time it’s part of the job if you don’t like it find somewhere else to work I will never step foot in this place again and I would not suggest anybody else I don’t care how good you think their food is bad customer service and rude people ruins it all.

We had a cherry Danish and a cinnamon pecan twist. Delicious! Their menu offered various breakfast sandwiches. Decent selection of coffees. Only one person there waiting on customers due to a family crisis. He was doing the best he could. He remained calm, kept moving! My husband and I were impressed with him. A lot of people were coming in. Antique decor suits the name. Definitely will stop in again!!
