Lickity Split restaurant review in Lancaster | New Holland, PA

Crystal, tomato base, some carrots, dill pickles, I’m sure I’m missing some items… I think a dash of Old Bay… and much deliciousness!

Listen, I need to report a crime. But I can’t call the police because I’m an accessory to it.
Lickity Split, New Holland’s legendary ice cream and sandwich shop, isn’t running a sandwich shop; they are running an international trade cartel. Okay, maybe not international, but certainly inter-county. They have figured out the ultimate cheat code for printing money in Lancaster County:
Drive 60 miles north to Tamaqua.
Load a truck with that premium, high-octane Leiby’s Ice Cream.
Bring it back to New Holland.
Watch locals lose their absolute minds.
I walked in there thinking I was supporting a local churn. I looked at the menu and realized, “Wait a minute… I know this texture. I know this density. This isn’t Dutch Country farm magic; this is Coal Region Gold.”
They aren’t just selling scoops; they are selling a nostalgic addiction with a markup. And you know what? I respect the hustle.

Quaint little place, faith based, warm and friendly. Food is unique (Dill pickle soup?!?) and good. Nothing fancy but wish stopping in, tho a bit pricey.

Found this place while driving around Lancaster when we were looking for some good light food options. This is a very cute place with great service. We ordered the black bean burrito and the dill pickle soup. The soup was very delicious and unique. Also tried their mini pretzels that came with a cheese dip and a cranberry sauce. The cranberry dip was surprisingly delicious and my husband and I loved it. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting this town.

I’ve been coming to Lickity Split for years, and it’s been amazing to watch this place grow and create such a warm, welcoming community. Every time I’m back in town, it’s a must-stop for me. As a vegetarian, I was stoked to see they’ve added three delicious veggie-friendly options—seriously, so good. It’s rare to find a spot that stays true to its roots while still evolving, and Lickity Split nails it every time. Keep up the great work!

I stumbled upon Lickity Split a few years ago during my annual Amish greenhouse haul between Kirkwood and East Earl for spring-summer decorating plants.
My Waze directions for our annual greenhouse haul include a lunch visit to Lickety Spilt.
Have you tasted the signature Dill Pickle soup? You must; it’s simply delicious. Lickity Split offers an extensive menu of soups, sandwiches, salads, specialty drinks, and desserts.
Today’s meal was a must-have cup of dill pickle soup and a small orchard salad in an old-fashioned ice cream parlor atmosphere.

The ladies, Maria and Alicia, provided excellent accommodations throughout our meal.

Lickity Split is an awesome place to eat! When we went out the service was super fast. They even asked us multiple times if we were still enjoying our meal. They were really friendly and made sure we had a great time. Their ice cream is also very good! I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun and delicious dining experience!

Lickity Split is truly an asset to New Holland! Upon entering, you are greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that just oozes small town charm (not to mention the historic memorabilia that is displayed throughout the restaurant). The staff is just as warm and welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. The menu offers a nice selection of soup, sandwiches, salads, and more. There is something for everyone! Be sure to save room for ice cream too!

Whether you’re a local or you are visiting the area, Lickity Split is a must!

A small cafe restaurant with entrance from the back to minimize the traffic noise from the main street. It has the small town atmosphere and serves some great burgers and ice cream. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. We tried the pickle cream soup and it sure has some kick to it. Prices was reasonable and service was quick.

Very impressed with the friendly service by our waitress, and she even let all of us taste a sample of the dill pickle soup! Our food came out quickly and everything was delicious. They have lots of fun ice cream sundae choices. Thank you for serving our food in beautiful dishes, and for the Bible verses on the bottom of the menus.

First time visit. Nice sandwich shop. We got a turkey sandwich and fried dill pickle soup. All their soups are homemade and the dill pickle was something I’d never seen before so I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did. The Dill wasn’t overpowering and the potato base was delicious. The turkey on the sandwich was roasted. Turkey was moist and I would definitely recommend it. Next time I’ll have to leave a little room for some dessert and ice cream. Also, if you’re really not sure about the soup, ask them for a sample. They gladly let us try it before buying it
