Really great food and really great service. Vibe was inviting and everyone we came across was extremely friendly. Our favorite was probably the chicken. It was perfectly cooked and all the sides were amazing. Location is easy to get to even when parking further away. Will definitely be back. Great meal!

The cutest French restaurant with delicious food and friendly and helpful staff. The mussels were to DIE for. We had the escargot, filet, paper felled and mushroom risotto and we were all extremely satisfied. A great little local place for a lovely night out with a great meal.

Celebrated an anniversary and successful surgery recovery here with a dinner (me, my husband and my mother). Everything we had was amazing – we all ordered something different for entrees and tried each other’s meals. Kebab appetizer was perfectly spiced. Chicken meuniere was one of the best chicken meals I have ever had. The cacio and pepe and hands down stellar – the best cacio and pepe I have had (though I haven’t had many, but I will be changing that going forward). The scallop special was also phenomenal.

Our server Sophia was awesome – attentive but not hovering.

We will absolutely return next time we are in the area!

So we decided to visit this place because we had heard so many good things about it! The food was very good, a bit under seasoned however. The place was beautiful… well the 5 ft we could see of it. We walked in the door and sat down. It was my 45th birthday celebration, but we seemed like an after thought to be honest. Also no one even acted like they knew it was my birthday considering it was asked about when making reservations.

I ordered the octopus, my wife had scallops and my son the halibut. We shared the escargot, and putine. All the meals and apps we’re cooked wonderfully, just needed a slight more seasoning!

My biggest concern… the service! It was very slow. I do know how restaurants work and understand if it’s super busy.. that wasn’t the issue here. We would have to wait 15-20 mins to refresh a drink or to offer dessert or anything else.

All in all, a solid 4. Hoping things get a little better on our next experience here.

This French restaurant is quaint and charming creating an intimate, cozy atmosphere perfect for date nights and special occasions.

The menu focuses on local seasonal ingredients and changes often.

They are famous for their handmade French breads and mussels, so definitely add them to your starters.

The octopus is cooked to perfection with tons of flavor.

If you have never tried escargot, this is the place to try it! The escargot was perfectly cooked in a creamy, rich, garlic sauce topped with lovely little puffed pastries. The dish is excellent for sharing.

For small bites, they have a wonderful chaucuterie selection.

They have a fantastic cocktail menu in addition to beer and wine.

We were so lucky to get reservations at this exceptional French restaurant where I had one of the 2 best meals of my life! Ellen, our guide and friend (server simply can’t describe how wonderful she was), explained the menu in detail and amplified our dining experience. I started with a perfect Sazerac. Then came mussels in a creamy pastis sauce followed by a crispy duck with labneh and apricots. Desserts for our party of 3 were too luscious for description. If you get a chance, go there! If you love food, plan a trip! You will not be disappointed.

Lovely! This was an unplanned visit. We were headed to dine somewhere else in Blowing Rock. Because it was unplanned, we could only get outdoor seating. But it worked out for us.

We met the owner, Sunshine. Nice lady. We ordered the steak tartare, the soup du jour was this amazing creamy based pepper (like a pepper bisque) with a bit of a kick. I loved it so much, I dipped the focaccia into the soup. Delicious!

We also shared the halibut for dinner. So you may notice the plate has been split.

We enjoyed sitting on the porch looking out on the lovely downtown street & watching people and families walk by. It was a pleasant experience.

Terrible. The food use to be really good. The mussels taste like onions, the octopus tastes burnt, the chicken is tough, the soup(potato) is sweet.

Charming and delicious! I ate here twice during a recent visit to Blowing Rock. The food was delicious, with a great variety of wines by the glass, which they helped me pair. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is excellent – kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Owner Sunshine is an absolute delight, and I am excited for this to be a go-to spot on future visits!

I would strongly recommend Cafe Violette for an upscale dinner in Blowing Rock. We found the food, service and atmosphere to all be excellent and definitely worth the prices. The autumn salad and vegetarian entree (the cacio e pepe) were both fantastic and likely the best vegetarian food you can get in Blowing Rock. We will definitely be back!
