Fujiyama in Northbrook is always a fantastic experience! From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcome and taken care of. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and perfect whether you’re going for a family dinner or a night out.
The sushi is incredibly fresh and beautifully presented, and the hibachi chefs make the meal both delicious and fun. Everything we ordered was flavorful and cooked perfectly. You can tell they take pride in both the quality of their ingredients and the overall experience.
Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the timing of everything was spot on. Consistently great food, great service, and a great vibe — we’ll definitely be back!

For the price, you can’t expect more—it’s the best value for money when it comes to Japanese food. They offer typical Japanese dishes, well prepared by a skilled chef. That said, if you’re looking for top-quality cuisine, this isn’t the place. The ambiance is nothing special, and the service is just okay. But considering the low price, it’s a solid choice.

It’s become a ritual for my family to visit Fujiyama every few months. We travel all the way from Naperville to taste Chef Shim’s delicacy, and it’s time and money well spent! Ingredients can be customized upon request and food quality and freshness far exceeds one’s expectations. These bite size gorgeous looking rolls just melt and disappears on my tongue! If you want to dine out for any occasions, this is “the” place! I’d rate Fujiyama 5 stars plus!!! Thanks!

Excellent Place for Sushi. The sashimi cuts are generous and the fish/seafood quality is superb. It literally melts in your mouth where you can truly appreciate the flavor.
Reminds me of some of the sushi quality I got in Japan and Taiwan. The sushi chef is legit.
And the best part is that it is very affordable.
Expect to spend $50 – $70 for two people.

A very nice spot to get some sushi or other Japanese dishes. It’s a very calm ambience and the food came out quickly.
Price point is fair for the quantity and quality.
I often get the tempura udon and the batter is always crispy and light while the udon broth has more of an anchovy flavor like you’d find in Korean kalguksu (I personally find it delicious). Friends who have ordered the katsu have enjoyed it consistently.
Sushi is very fresh and well balanced. I ordered salmon nigiri and some variety rolls that also had salmon–very clean flavor and not overbearing with rice.
It’s a smaller space and very intimate, so just be aware when going in groups. Also be aware of the parking spaces right in front being limited, but there are plenty of spaces within the plaza.
Service was quick, polite and responsive. What more can you ask for?

This place is an absolute joke. The food is overpriced garbage—bland, boring, and nowhere near the quality you can get at literally dozens of better sushi spots nearby. The owners clearly stopped caring a long time ago—everything feels neglected and run-down. But the worst part? The customer service is beyond atrocious. Rude doesn’t even begin to cover it. If you’re going to treat paying customers like a burden, you shouldn’t be in business at all. Nothing kills a meal faster than a nasty, miserable server with a bad attitude. One star is generous—this place deserves zero.
