As a lifetime north Louisiana resident, I’ve long ventured to south Louisiana for good king cakes. Castor and Chicory has removed that necessity. I can’t wait for their king cakes every year. If you’re familiar with other cakes from the south, I’d say they’re most similar to Keller’s in Lafayette.

Amazing service got 2 king cakes one traditional and one cream cheese. They were 10/10 as well as a lemon tart and a loaf of sourdough all amazing. Customer service is a 10/10 great people. Show up early they sell out fast!

The classic beignets were so good even my fiancé from Baton Rouge liked them. The ham and cheese beignet was also very good. I could tell they made it, along with everything else, to order. I also got an iced caramel cafe au lait, much more delicious when I was expecting. Though I like the taste of caramel, sometimes it can be too much or give me a headache but this place has it down perfectly. It honestly tasted like the caramel flavoring in the drink was made from scratch bc I could taste elements of butter.
The service was also very friendly, welcoming, and attentive.

Outstanding pastry and breads!!!! Pastry is buttery, flaky, and absolutely delicious. Best pastries I’ve ever had!! I’ve been here many times and every time it’s amazing. I love their croissants, breads, chocolatines, and DANISHES! The pumpkin pie danish is ridiculously good. Also, the bear claws are awesome and the jalapeño cheddar rolls are so good to take home and make for breakfast with a fried egg. This place is the best.

Starting with the staff, they super kind and gentle, the cleaning, it’s amazing how clean and well decorated it is. they plenty of parking spaces, and tables for enjoying. The beignets are delightful , their croissants super nice, the coffee delicious. We got different desserts to try during our trip and make it more fun. All prices are very affordable i think this is the down town, so everywhere is super beautiful, they public restrooms in case you want to walk around, we didn’t do it, we just taking a half hour break
Remainder; the little trailer sells beignets and coffee, the coffee salon sells the croissants and more! Definitely a place to come back.

Nice spot great customer service. The cookies brownies and blondies tasted really good and only cost a dollar. Everything was fresh. I was disappointed in the beignets they tasted plain maybe they should add something to the dough. The Ole South Diner has the best beignets way more flavorful but I’m willing try once more.
