This has become by far my favorite seafood place! I have come here multiple times again and again with family because I can’t get enough!! The service is quite swell, it’s nice that they give you space to eat and are quick with bringing out your order as well. The ambience is quite nice in my opinion it’s not bombarded with so many people, which I wish would be because the food here is exquisite! But it’s nice and calming and you can eat your food in peace without so much noise, the windows are nice and big so you can see outside and have fresh air while you eat your steamy seafood, it’s really yummy! The flavors are not too over the top either l’ve tried all spice levels and flavors and all of them are amazing, the taste is so addicting! I will admit I wasn’t to fond of the taste at first but that’s because I didn’t get the right flavor for me but now that I’ve got it I can’t get enough, honestly! Plus the plates are decorated so nicely you can’t help but admire the food and take pictures before you dive in! I would come here everyday if i wasn’t so busy, more people need to experience this food it’s too good to miss out!! They definitely need more advertising to get more traffic in the place, I haven’t been able to eat there yet because they’ve been closed but I await eagerly for their opening!

Really good food. We had the Crab legs, scallops , corn and potatoes steamed together with a flavorful sauce, and covered with a big plastic bag. Spicy Fries were sooo good. Texture and flavor were on point. Corn on the cobb was tender. Very Good Meal. Staff was Friendly and service was great. Prices were very reasonable……Will be back!!!!!

Looked pretty weak on the outside with the logo of old place not even painted over and the parking lot empty but I’m glad I gave it a chance! The Cajun lobster and crab were fantastic! Really good food. Think I found a new favorite place to eat. The prices were fantastic especially if you like shrimp or crawfish

The Shaking Crab over by the portage mall exceeded my expectations! I ordered the lunch filet mignon hibachi with three rolls, and each dish was paired perfectly with this delightful mushroom soup. The hibachi was tender and juicy, bursting with flavor, while the sushi rolls were fresh and expertly prepared. Every bite was a harmonious blend of taste and texture. If you’re craving quality hibachi and sushi with a nice selection of american fares (if you have a picky eater they have chicken tenders and other choices) this is the spot! 5 stars without hesitation. Next time I’m going to try more of their apps and probably a specialty sushi role.

Went during the soft opening ~ food was amazing and had great flavor along with delicious homemade sauces! (Definitely recommend the boom boom and sweet chili sauces!) I got a fried shrimp & calamari basket with Cajun fries, and was greeted with a large amount of hot, yummy food. The service was amazing, super friendly people. Definitely a new favorite of mine. Will be going back again soon!

Place was empty (no complaints) and one server/cook. Food was good and drinks were nice. Very pricey. I believe he upgraded me cause my bill was high but I still ate it.

Great variety and decently priced!
Located in the former Brann’s Steakhouse building next to Celebration Cinemas behind Crossroads Mall in the Portage/Kalamazoo area.
Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. However, it seemed to start to pick up a little as it became later in the evening.
I searched Google Maps under cajun, and my wife searched under seafood boil. After a failed attempt for one very close by (posted hours stated open, but no one answers the phone), and other establishments’ menus being a little too specific, we settled on this one. Hadn’t heard of it before, but it was only a short drive away.
The menu not only had a strong sense of Louisiana fare, but also full on hibachi options (food only w/o the show) as well! I had the build-your-own seafood boil, and my wife (not a seafood fan ) had the hibachi steak.
I chose the Shaking Special for a base, which is all (3) sauces in one, and medium spice level, as the waiter couldn’t really give a good comparison to how hot their levels equated to. I reeeeally like spicy, but I also want to enjoy the taste of my food if that makes sense? Disappointed that sausage didn’t come with it (who does that? Lol), but glad it was at least available as an option for an additional fee.
My wife said her habichi steak was highly comparable to the other hibachi specific places around town, and enjoyed her meal and portions. It also came with miso soup and a salad w/ranch dressing. The main dish was served on a large platter with a side of yum yum sauce.
My cajun boil was pretty good, a little heavy on the butter and salt, in my opinion, but will probably up the spice/heat level next time. I liked that you could order the shrimp either head on or off. The mussels were all open and ready to eat, and none of them empty. The scallops were silver dollar sized and delicious and the sausage was cut in thin slices.
The food came out quicker than expected, and the waiter very attentive, but wonder if it would’ve been the same in a packed house? We’re definitely fans of the food, and looking forward to trying something different from the menu on the next visit. Although, I may just stick with the same time frame as we enjoyed the more quiet atmosphere.

The lunch hibachi specials were a good price for good portions, and they were really good. The all -you -can eat sushi is a really good deal.
