It’s a shame to say I live in town and this was my first time coming in but it definitely won’t be my last. The restaurant is charming and cozy, and the breakfast truly surprised me with how good it was. I don’t know how many times I said “this is really good” after each bite. Highly recommended!
And as a bonus, we happened to walk in on a day they were supporting the local high school softball team, which made the experience even better. ⚾️

If you haven’t been to Riverside Shoppe yet, you are seriously missing out. It’s exactly what a local spot should be—warm, welcoming, and serves food that feels like a hug.
I had Aunt Karen’s Egg in a Hole, and it was absolute perfection. It’s one of those nostalgic dishes that’s hard to find done just right, but they nailed it. My daughter went for the chocolate chip silver dollar pancakes, and I’m pretty sure she smiled through every single bite. They were fluffy, loaded with chips, and the perfect size for kids (or anyone with a sweet tooth!).
The atmosphere is cozy, and the service makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. We’ll definitely be back soon to try more of the menu!

For any Gilmore Girls Fans, this is Rockaway Borough’s “Luke’s Diner.” I was driving through town for business reasons and decided to stop on my way as I was early. I chose to sit at the counter as I was alone, and just watched the dynamics. The service is great – everybody knows everyone. Regulars are greeted by name, and for the true “regulars”, their coffees or teas were brought piping hot as they were sitting. The camaraderie and joy that filled the place was infectious. I ordered the “Thea’s Breakfast Croissant” and it was outstanding. I cannot wait until business brings me back to this little town, to hopefully enjoy my meal outdoors with the beautiful views of the river.

Annie, her daughter and their staff are amazing! My husband and I have been going there since they opened and love it. The food is INCREDIBLE, staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is quaint and homey. There is so much history in this cute cafe…ask Annie next time you go there and if you haven’t been there yet, it is a must go. Their Arico omelet is my favorite! 🙂

Thea and Annie are the best two people who run an amazing, comfy restaurant in the heart ♥️ of Rockaway Borough. You are welcomed with open arms even fifteen minutes before closing. The food is quality and flavorful and if you want to be treated like family instead of staring into a device the whole time, this is the place to go.

The only thing saving this was the server, she was great, very nice, sweetand accommodating. The food, no, bland horrible servings, the sausage and the potatoes were all burnt on both entrees. Cheese not even melted on the breakfast bowl. Unless you like burnt everything I don’t recommend.

Arico’s checks all the boxes for a local breakfast/lunch spot. Thea was super helpful and accommodating for a last minute 20 person brunch on a Sunday. Annie was a joy to have as our server for the day and she singlehandedly made the morning run smoothly. Entrees were served without a hitch and in a timely manner. Coffee is great and there are several options to customize drinks. All of the support staff were also helpful and friendly with any requests we had, big or small. Hope to be back soon!
