Stopped at Taco Way in Uvalde on a long 1,200-mile trip back to Texas for a funeral, chasing the breakfast tacos I grew up with. Meeting up with my old friend Jesus and a house full of kids made it feel like home again, and Taco Way was part of that nostalgia. The tacos still carried the familiar flavors I remembered, but with new hands in the kitchen, they don’t quite hit the same legendary level they once did. Still, it’s a solid local stop with emotional history baked in for anyone who’s been around Uvalde a while—I just left still searching for that perfect, memory-level breakfast taco.

Would have loved if picking up tacos here didn’t cost the same as picking up tacos in Austin or Dallas. Why are small town tacos so expensive?

Small hometown restaurant seats about 12. Best for phone orders or drive thru. Great food

I hope you got your wallet handy. I paid almost 8.00 for flour tortillas. Getting very expensive!

Tacos are a good size, but we got RAW tortillas, and lately they have been getting our orders wrong over and over again, so we will not be returning.
The staff doesn’t care and you can tell. They took almost an hour with 4 tacos one time so eventually we just told them to cancel the order and the man got mad and threw the tacos on the counter saying “Well he (my bf) doesn’t want them” and walked away. Unprofessional, and staff is kinda stand-offish.
There are other places in town, pass on this one

Your kind reply made me decide to look at your online menu and check the price. I guess I had a 4 dollar coffee and a $2.70 taco. That does make it much more palatable. To get 5 stars I would say a little more browning on the tortilla, a pinch more salt and a bit more cheese/fillings.

Used to be our favorite little spot to eat. The last 3 months food and customer service has gone down hill tremendously. The store employees are still awesome.. it’s just the restaurant side of it that I do not recommend…
