Cant hate the classics, always love dipping my chili dog inside my cake milkshake like a true chicagoan. The lady behind me saw me do this and visibly gagged and made a wrenching noise which wasn’t nice but I thought it was delicious. 10/10 love Portillos.

The food itself was okay—not bad, but not the standout part of the visit. My drink had way too much ice, which was a little disappointing. Also, a heads-up for anyone using the self-service kiosks: watch out when ordering a combo. It’s easy to accidentally add an extra fries order at the end—you won’t need the double portion!
Overall, I loved the experience more for the atmosphere than the food, and I’d still recommend stopping in for the fun, classic Portillo’s vibe.

Portillos never changes its consistency. Excellent food but a bit pricey. Plenty of seating on both levels. It has an elevator to get to the bathrooms. Ample of free parking!

The beef sandwich was dry and had no flavor. Had sauce on the side, outside of making bread soggy made non difference in taste. The chili dog was the winner today. The weenie had good taste and snap, chili tastes good and the bun brought it together. They also make a good French fry. Stick to the hotdog menu as it’s the better meal here.

Just beware that it seems to be heavy take-out/ pre-order focused. I waited around 15 minutes. There were just a few customers and 20+staff preparing one order after another.

Best fast food in the city, not specific to this location. Portillos’ is the gold standard of fast food and I’m a miser. Their golden fries are a worthy addition to any hoard. Get the big beef with hot pepper and extra gravy

I have been waiting to try Portillo’s for 3 years. I’m so happy I finally got to try them. Now, if you have texture issues, I would recommend not getting every single topping on the hot dog. Maybe get them on the side and try it as you go. All together the flavors are great! But can be overwhelming on the classic hot dog. Great flavors all around. Not too expensive. The place the spacious. Plenty of dine-in space. Had great parking (Their own dedicated parking lot) and even has a drive thru if you’re not interested in dine-in or pick up inside. Will definitely return to try their cake shakes I have heard people rave about.
