We had the BEST experience here last night. The food was truly amazing ! I think we tried almost every special and loved them all. If he is there and you are feeling daring, just leave it up to Gordon to recommend away! Each dish was spectacular and presented like a piece of art. Amber the sushi chef is incredibly talented. It’s one of the best sushi experiences we have ever had!

We absolutely love this place. The service is top notch. The food is absolutely excellent. Great selection of sake and whiskey. This place is unique in that it serves primarily hand rolls. There really hasn’t been anything we haven’t liked here. We have been here a handful of times and everything is consistently good. That speaks so well to this establishment. One of our favorite places to keep coming back to for sushi.

If you enjoy sushi, temaki, rolls and great drinks, as well as truly passionate staff, you will love this place. There is absolutely no place in the area that can compare. It is amazingly high quality. Just order a couple dishes at a time and enjoy. No massive boats coming your way. This is as close to traditional Japan as you can get. I’ve been to sushi all around the world and the fact that I can get into this place without a reservation is amazing. It’s worth an hour drive to get here to enjoy the food. I’ll come back as often as I can. Enjoy.

Excellent quality food and very friendly staff. The food is definitely a bit more on the artistic side with some uncommon but great ingredients. So, this is not your usual good sushi place.
The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is due to the restaurant ambiance and limited menu. There are tall ceilings and the seating area is rather narrow. There are no tables to sit at inside, just the bar.

Absolutely 1000% baffled at the reviews. We were astonished to see, for one, the sushi being packaged in oversized plastic sandwich/entree containers! Lol, what?! It doesn’t stop there, not even close. We didn’t even get the correct appetizer- we were given Luke warm under-fried and under-battered soggy squid….There was salad dressing on top of our ‘to go’ salads , which were also filled with wilted greens? The main course: the Sushi!!! Who on Earth made this, & how are you storing your product? Honestly, I’m actually curious at what training the individual who made our sushi has even received. Its pathetic. Portion size? Offensive. Literally thrown into the container as if they were tater tots instead of being placed flat & uniform as sushi rolls should. The fish itself didn’t feel even remotely cold, and everything was beyond haphazardly made…
*Fresh* sushi shouldn’t smell overly fishy, nor should it leave a disgusting, lingering, fishy aftertaste. The Wasabi shouldn’t be on the verge of turning brown either…blown away to say the least, and not in a positive way. We used a Groupon promo for the food here this evening, and we are throwing everything in the trash sadly. Never have been so let down by a sushi joint as bad as we were tonight..zero stars if possible. This place smells fishy literally and figuratively, & this sushi is without question unsafe. If we had eaten our food, I’m convinced we would have been sick. It wreaks! Why?
Also, beanies are allowed on the chefs in a sushi kitchen? A disgrace to the cuisine. Never, ever again.
Pictured below: on the left is the $18 Goku roll, on the right is the $15 ‘how bout dat’ roll… the smelly fried squid are in the other picture. The squid smell like aging fish & dirty socks, and weren’t even close to being hot….this is food poisoning here, folks. All the thumbs wayyy down for you crooks.

47 Sushi & Spirits is truly an exquisite dining experience. For anyone who appreciates high quality, hand crafted food, as well as a curated personal culinary experience to fit your personal tastes and interests, carve out a couple hours and take a trip down here.
I emphasize taking a couple hours because this is not the kind of place you go for a “quick bite”, although the Executive Chef, Amber, makes handcrafted sushi look easy and she could certainly get you in and out in a pinch. Rather, take the time for yourself, to slow down and appreciate the quality of the fish, the care and craftsmanship that is put into every dish, and the passion poured into the guest experience.
Try the sake, try the special wasabi, try the special miso soup, just go try some amazing new things. If you get to know Gordon a bit, there’s even secret menu items created for their favorite guests

An incredible culinary experience that we had not anticipated. This place is not your typical sushi restaurant. They have some of the most delicious sake I’ve ever had and the menu is mostly comprised of handrolls. You will not find soy sauce on the counters – the fish is so fresh it doesn’t need it. I highly recommend you ask Gordon to suggest something off menu. It will be more expensive, but worth every penny.

Seriously, why drive to Sushi Den when you can get food as good as this in Highlands Ranch! Super impressed with the quality, the turn around time, and my over all experience. Will be back for sure.
