Update: we returned after a year and had an equally good experience to our first visit. Food was as good as our first visit and it was a good experience. Still recommended and I would book in advance.

This was our first visit and we enjoyed our dinner very much. The restaurant has an inviting interior and porch for dining. We had a table on the porch and enjoyed the light at the end of the day. Almost cool so they turned the heater on for us.

We started with some Calamari and fried zucchini. Good!

For the mains we had the Gnocchi and the Casarecce alla verde. Both were good – and plentiful.

Service was generally good although not always attentive. The waiter later mentioned he was sorry about being preoccupied with a very loud and large group at the other end of the porch.

Osteria Tre Tassi is a hidden gem nestled in a beautifully restored old home—immaculately clean and full of warmth and charm. The outdoor area is stunning, with thoughtfully designed landscaping and breathtaking views that immediately set a relaxing tone.

Inside, the atmosphere was elevated by soft classic lite rock playing over the speakers—nostalgic but tasteful—and later in the evening, a live guitarist added a beautiful layer to the ambience. It created the perfect backdrop for a slow, indulgent meal.

The drinks were fantastic—expertly crafted and clearly made with care. Our server was both knowledgeable and professional, striking the perfect balance of attentiveness without ever being intrusive.

The food was incredible. You can truly taste the freshness—many of the vegetables are grown on-site, and the handmade mozzarella was a standout. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic Italian dining experience with a refined yet relaxed vibe. We’ll absolutely be back.

This restaurant was really special. Had a wonderful time with our party of seven while on vacation in Door County. The food was authentic and delicious. Prosciutto bruschetta and Suppli Alla Romano were our appetizers. Homemade Tagliatelle pasta and ragu for the main course. Dessert was tiramisu and lemon mascarpone cake. Everything was superb. Our waitress was attentive and the atmosphere simple and quaint.

I visited twice last summer and went back twice this past weekend to explore more of the menu. They have a small farm/massive garden behind the restaurant where they grow their most of the ingredients they use, and they source everything else locally.

Over the weekend, we ordered their housemade focaccia, meatballs, Bruschetta with burrata and prosciutto, Mare e Lago with fried calamari, whitefish nuggets, and zucchini, Branzino, and a Porcini mushroom-rubbed Filet. Every bite was delicious, and we felt the Bruschetta was our favorite, but the Branzino and Filet were close runners-up!

Saturday night, we received great service from Carmen, and Sunday night, we received great service from Olivia!

Osteria Tre Tassi is a place I make a point to visit whenever I’m in Door County, and I highly recommend you do the same! They take reservations and book up quickly, so try to plan ahead.

On the positive side – the food was quite good. Pasta made in-house had a really good flavor. Drinks were good and decent wine selection. Server was very polite but overwhelmed as there were only two servers for the entire restaurant last night (Saturday).

On the negative side – incredibly, incredibly slow service. Took 25 minutes to receive our first drinks, and when our dinners finally came out, we would have liked to have ordered another drink but the server didn’t come back until at least fifteen minutes after our meal was completely finished.

Atmosphere was poor as we were seated about one foot away from other tables on each side. The other table members commented on that as well, as one said he “felt like they were sitting in our laps as they were so close.” Would not recommend Osteria Tre Tassi.

This was my first time dining at Osteria Tre Tassi since they had opened, and it was such a delightful experience. We sat at the bar and had an enjoyable evening with bartender Dustin, and got to meet the chefs + owners, Robin and Joey, as well. What an awesome crew. The food was wonderful. The pastas were al dente and flavorful, the Foccacia was crunchy and bubbly, and the desserts were the perfect bow on the meal. Our cocktails were delicious. The ambience was cozy and welcoming. We will absolutely be back – make the drive, it is NOT out of the way, I promise!

We enjoyed our evening at Osteria Tre Tassi in Ellison Bay. Classic country setting enveloped with trees, gazebo to sit in as well as outdoors tables and chairs to wait for your reservation or table. Reservations suggested. The restaurant and bar was full when we arrived for our 6:30 Sunday reservation but we were sat in about 20 minutes. Cocktails are available and presented beautifully.

We had a 6 year old with us, they don’t have a children’s menu but the chef created some noodles with garlic butter and Parmesan and she gave it “100 out of 10” . The whitefish piccata was delicious and tender, ravioli perfect. Home made focaccia and lemonade was a hit as well. The tiramisu was delicious for dessert and large enough for us to split.

In all we would go back again.

The interior of the restaurant reminds us of our old favorite (former restaurant in this spot) as does the bar.

The service! I can only speak for the bartender and our waiter! They were both great Our waiter was delightful!

The perfect addition to elegant dining in Ellison Bay!

We ordered the ravioli and braised beef cheeks. The food was outstanding and the service was just as special. The chef is an amazing person who takes time to made food with love and passion. All their meat is sourced locally and all the vegetables are grown in their garden by the restaurant. True authentic Italian food, it’s a seasonal restaurant so highly recommend eating here during the warmer months, they open starting around May. Cocktails and mocktails were delicious, definitely a treat. Dessert was by far one of the best aspects of the meal, the tiramisu and lemon cake were delightful, nothing but positive energy here. Special thanks to the entire staff for making it a wonderful experience all around.
