My grandson lives in Texas. He graduated from college this week and he urged us all from NJ to go try this spot. We weren’t disappointed! The food was some of the best I’ve had! Excellent customer service and friendly staff! I will be back soon for more!

Saw a crowd at this place so checked it out and it is good. Food is made when you order so hot and fresh and tasty delicious.
Robstown hospitality is always warm and friendly but no time to BS so keep the stupid jokes to yourself.
No hate to the people cause they are the best.
I even went back the next day.

I’m not a big fan of fried chicken, but I do like fried livers. I saw this place on a YouTube channel and since I was in the area decided to give it a try.
I ordered a 2 piece chicken and a small liver meal with the gravy on top. I’ll honestly say the fries with the gravy and seasoning were my favorite thing. I can see myself stopping by just for a basket of fries with gravy. They use the yellow chicken gravy, with an option of having it on top or on the side.
The livers were fresh and tender, but I felt were lacking a bit flavor wise. The fried chicken was crispy the skin was good. A bit salty, but the meat was still juicy and tender. The batter had a red tint to it. Probably a spice that was added, as it had a little kick.
Was worth the stop.. prices were really affordable.

I saw a line 10 deep last Friday, and thought I needed to try this place out. I just moved to the area, and I’m just going to guess the locals love themselves some salty fried chicken. This is only because they season the fries while sitting on top of the chicken – but the salt is thick. Season the fries off the chicken and this place gets a 4star.
I got a 3 piece, not knowing a 4 piece dark meat meal was a dollar cheaper.
They were out of drinks as well. I will say the Hawaiian rolls and fries were tasty.
There’s no indoor seating, so plan on getting it to go, and on that note, I noticed a ton of locals call in their orders. Keep that in mind as well.

Aside from the delicious chicken, fries, and rolls, the staff was amazing. Being our first time, we decided to get gizzards to try. The friendly staff gave us a free basket (; of gizzards with gravy. I highly recommend Barrera’s fried chicken. We will be coming back soon.

Looking for a place to stop for lunch in our way home from SPI to SA, I read about this tiny place in Robstown that was featured on Texas Eats. Giant chicken strips with creamy chicken gravy? Yes please! We called ahead about 20 mins out and our order was ready for takeout when we arrived, piping hot and fresh. My husband and I should’ve split an order – it comes with 4 massive strips and fries. We could each only eat two, even though we mostly skipped the two rolls and fries – which were basic frozen fries doused in over-salty seasoning. I deducted one star for the fries, and the chicken was a bit salty as well. Still worth a stop if you are in the area and craving mass quantities of tasty and inexpensive chicken!

My first time trying this place after seeing a review on TikTok. It reminded of the orginal Pete’s Chicken growing up and it was like the scene from Ratatouill. The taste was delicious, the crisp of the Chicken was perfect.

I must say this is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! The problem is that once you try it now all the other fried chicken chain restaurants taste like trash! The staff that works here are so nice & friendly as well. I drove from Corpus since I heard nothing but good things about this place so I had to try it out for myself. I do recommend calling in your order prior like I did. Me & my wife will definitely be coming back from now on. Well worth the drive & the price is exceptional for the amount of food they give you!

Waited over twenty minutes for meals. Ten to fifteen people came and went while we waited. I asked and was told it another 6 to term minutes. So we decided to leave. Then someone comes to the car and says they are writing on one tender. Really almost thirty minutes and you need one tender after at least ten or nine people came and left. We left without any food. What a way to treat two veterans. This was our first and last time to ever attempt to eat there.

In town for business and heard nothing but good things about this spot. Must admit, they met all expectations as my shrimp and fries were crispy, and my chicken was season well. A must try in the area and have earned my “Certified Mad Good ” rating
