At first glance this family owned restaurant may look modest but where this family owned restaurant shines is the food quality. I’ve come to learn that modest looking restaurants tend to have better tasting food then upscale restaurants. These meals are cooked with care from the owners. They take the care of preparing their meals with the techniques that will yield better tasting flavors vs cooking them the fast way.
The owners are down to earth and were very kind to share with me how they have been running the restaurant since 2017 and the challenges they have overcome. The husband and wife both are involved in the cooking, servers and customer service.

They may not have a dedicated staff but overall the owners give the restaurant a more human personal touch. The owners are family centered so some of their kids are in the restaurant and sometimes their 11 year old son will be your cashier at the end of your service. Talk about instilling good work ethic!

Since the owners are busy doing multiple things, you may have to get their attention to get another bottle of water.

The tea leave “appetizer” La Phe Tot was so good and laced with peanuts for a crunchy exterior. Such a great tasting and filling appetizer meal that is more like an entree!

The Shan Noodle was also delicious with generous portions, highly recommend if you want a hearty filling meal!

Overall the food was so delicious and I was grateful to come across this restaurant to experience Burmese cuisine, I look forward to coming to visit in the future on a future work trip in Tulsa.

The food is incredible. Burmese food is like an Asian fusion all on its own. This was a local family kitchen, and it really felt like a home cooked meal.

Best noodles I’ve ever had. The pork udon was so flavorful, and all the seasonings were balanced.

They brought us a boiling hot pork soup in a cast iron pot that was LOUD and mesmerizing. Delicious.

10/10 would come back again and again

So one of my friends adviced me to try Kai Burmese Cuisine when I told that I would like to have some authentic burmese food. Being an Asian, I love the spice and flavor of all kinds of Asian food. So thought to try Kai. Went there and there was no greeting at all. I found a table by myself. Someone came and gave the menu…Since its the first time, I didnt want to take any chances so ordered fried rice. Usually when you tell fried rice, they ask if you want beef/chicken/shrimp but here nothing of that sort happened so I thought they would bring chicken. Meanwhile in every restaurant, they give you water but here I didnt see that happening(maybe they dont want their customers to drink water lol). After a few minutes, the food arrived. They give you a soup and fried rice with egg on top. I felt the flavor matches exactly like a Vietnamese fried rice. Had 4 shrimp pieces(to my surprise) and thats it. Its an average one.. Didnt meet my expectations plus they need to improve a lot on customer service!

Very happy to try it, been a while since I’ve been able to have some Burmese food without cooking it at home. They were out of curry, evidently we went too late, so I’ll have to go back.

I regret trying any specific Chin state dishes, but I saw Shan khao swe and had trouble not ordering that even though I probably should have stuck to their region. Mohinga was good, fried tofu was good. Tea leaf salad was on the way to good but not quite what I hoped.

I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in Tulsa.

Out of this Zoomi World. My grandfather flew P-40 Warhawks over Burma in WW2. My dish came out bubbling and boiling hot.

The Burmese culture is very unique for Tulsa. Look up Zoomi Town.

Very Good. I will be back!

Very good, down-to-earth Burmese restaurant. If you’ve never tried Burmese food (this was my/our first time) I would describe it as a transition between Thai and Indian food. We were enjoying the food so much that the only pic that I got to take was half way into the meal. Also I didn’t get the right spelling for the dishes that we had but out of five of them that we tried, liked them all!

Kai was actually the first time I’d tried Burmese cuisine, but it has made me a fan. Everything we tried was delicious, and we’ll definitely be coming back to try some of the other dishes on the menu!

There was quite a bit of a language barrier, but by no means should that deter you! The staff was helpful and everything was exactly what we ordered.

Portions are very large and both dishes we ordered could easily be shared by two people, with leftovers.

If you’re a fan of other Asian cuisine, such as Thai or Cantonese, definitely give them a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was good sometimes and very different other times. What needs work is their customer service. The young lady took our order and didn’t say much. Just took our menus and orders without saying any greetings. Having a waitress with customer service goes a long way.
