Saw Bistro 29 on Michelin Guides’ Bib Gourmand list and wanted to give it a try.
Long story short, the food is good but not amazing. Not sure if this is French cuisine to be honest.
Prefixe menu and wine pairing are both very reasonably priced. Great value for the money

Look I am gonna keep it super short and sweet. This place is amazing. If you want a low key date night place this is your place. Do you want to make a great impression for out of town visitors to one of the best places in Sonoma County come here. This place is a ten. Always get the Cassoulet and Basque Mussels.

I’ve worked in really nice restaurants. This is one of them. The concentration of flavors, the reductions, the glaces, the wines, the service; it’s all top tier. Everything is plated well and consistent. Local organics that are seasonal… yes please. The prices are not all that bad either. Get reservations for dinner, even on the weekdays. They have some great vegetarian and gluten free options to. French cooking in the SoCo way, done so by a wonderful kitchen staff. I havnt been disappointed even in the slightest here. I’ll keep coming back and recommending it too.

Service was utterly professional, if a bit slow, but perhaps that’s to be expected in French cuisine? It certainly didn’t hurt our capacity to eat the our rather decent portions of appetizers and entrees. 🙂 The food was nothing short of amazing: the sauteed halibut was probably the best dish I’ve had in years, anywhere! Perfect portion, perfect composition, seasoned and cooked to perfection. My wife had one of their buckwheat crepes, and while that may sound pedestrian, it was equally good. This place is highly recommended!

If you have not ventured past the slow and comfortable you will miss a life full of adventure and romance.
There is something so elegant and delicious about this place.
I stumbled on this restaurant with a very good friend from Paris. He told me the owners and food were amazing..
Perhaps a stretch from a Frenchman to suggest to an Irishman something so outlandish..
But not at all..
This was absolutely, unequivocally and downright positively delicious.
There Prix fix 4 course dinner and wine pairing is the beat gourmet experience you will find in the area..
So my suggestion is live a little and give it a try.. please save me a seat at the bar..
Cheers..

My boyfriend and I decided to try French food on a whim. The restaurant has a very intimate setting, friendly and attentive staff, and fair pricing for the quality of food (which was excellent). You aren’t required to make a reservation, but I would recommend one, though they will do their best to accommodate you if you drop in. If you’re looking to splurge a little to have a nice date night this is an excellent place to go.

Restaurant is small so reservations are advised. Menu is French influenced. There was a bit of confusion as board outside listed daily special prix fixe dinner but we were told it was only for some week nights and was not available night we were there. Service was very good and our server selected a wonderful wine that went well with our diverse food choices. Food was delicious. Definitely will go back next vacation in Sonoma.

What a fantastic experience from the moment we walked in until we left. Super friendly & knowledgeable staff. Great choice of menu & all the dishes we chose were excellent. The beef in red wine & lemon curd crepes to die for. One of the best meals I have had.

A cute little French bistro in downtown Santa Rosa. We stopped in for our anniversary weekend of wine tasting and were not disappointed. We both got the French onion soup, shared the mussels, and each got a steak (1 Kobe and 1 Ribeye) plus our corkage fee for about $80. The quality of everything and portions were really good
