After a few visits to Chesapeake this will be my last. I think they have a lot of people that know nothing about bbq fooled. My pictures are of 2 different visits. The first is a brisket I got and really dont know what it even was. The second photo is from today. The brisket was basically beef jerky. And not sliced in the right direction. Im not sure when it was smoked but no pit was running today which is odd for a friday at lunch time (prime business hours). Looks like ill be sticking to mission bbq until something else comes along. Sometimes its nice to go get local bbq when you cook bbq for a living. However I dont even like calling this bbq. Its horrible quality and its clear they take no pride in what they are doing!

This was a great place for lunch. The portions are huge. Four of us all had something different and we all loved the food. The pit beet was amazing, I am not sure what one reviewer was talking about but he definitely lost his mind. Light smoked flavor, not too much. A ton of meat and a great bun. The meat was super tender. I have had pit beef all over the area and definitely put this right to the top of the list. The other selections were pit turkey which was a giant stacked sandwich and delicious. The brisket platter was as good as any around. Great smoke and melted in your mouth and the pulled chicken with the OldBay hot sauce “amazing”! This place is kinda off the beaten path but well worth going a few minutes out of your way for an all round delicious affordable meal.

I had to give them a second chance after the first experience wasn’t as expected. My sister and brother in law rave about this place and its specials. I visited early Thursday afternoon and talked to the manager about my disappointment on my first visit. She was empathetic and understanding of the disappointment in the overdone pit beef sandwich I received on my first visit. She agreed that the picture of the sandwich I showed her was not Rare as I always order. I explained my sister’s comments and that I wanted to give them a second chance. She promptly had the cook check for a piece of beef that he could make a sandwich for me.
It was well worth the second try. The beef was flavorful, tender and juicy as it should be. The fries were good on both visits. The manager went out of her way to make sure I had a good experience and for this and the excellent food, I will make sure my friends and family know about this semi-hidden gem right in our back yard.

I’m not a guy who enjoys giving a bad review, I know is hard to stay consistent when you have employees, but ya gotta do better than that. We had both pit food and smoked food (supposedly), the sandwich didn’t taste ANYTHING like a sandwich off a pit. I truly think the brisket was cooked in an oven, NO SMOKE flavor at all. Boardwalk fries, my a&%, the collared greens were good. I’d certainly love to support and enjoy local places, but not this one sorry.

On the way to Curtis Bay warehouse location. Was skeptical at first….. saw the smoker and fresh chopped wood. The smell, THE SMELL was amazing.
Tried the brisket and macaroni and cheese. Brisket was great. Awesome rub and flavor, great smoke ring and very tender. Greens were okay…. Staff was very friendly. Great BBQ spot.

The ribs were good, they’re special sauce is very good sweet appley flavor. Could use a little bit more smoke.
Their mustard sauce was also quite good.
Collard greens on point
French fries fabulously on point. I mean perfect so many people mess up french fries these guys got it right.
The beat BBQ sandwich was only okay
The pit beef which looked amazing when they were cutting it. It had a nice smoke flavor to it but it was under seasoned.

Tried this BBQ shack out on a whim about a year ago and have been going there weekly ever since!
I have had BBQ from Maine to Mississippi and hands down Chesapeake BBQ serves my favorite pit meats, ribs, chili, collard greens, and baked beans! But truly, you cannot go wrong with anything you order here.
Everything has amazing flavor right off the pit/smoker. I must’ve tried everything on the menu and am yet to find something thats not delicious!
My personal go-to is the Dagwood sandwich with onions and Georgia yellow sauce!
This place is doing it RIGHT! The staff are super kind and attentive and serve up some prime BBQ.
We hired them to cater a graduation party a few months back and they were the talk of the crowd!
Definitely check out this place if you’re ever driving by!

Can’t believe I almost forgot to review.
First of all. Better than mission BBQ. Secondly. The food was so good. Everything we got we loved. I ate all of my chicken platter. I ate it with my hands it was so damn good. The green beans, baked beans, collard greens, fries, all of it. Amazing. Thirdly: the lady (I forgot your name, sorry) makes all the sauces and despite the hard work and effort it goes into doing that, she still gave us one of every one to try! And they were ALL GOOD although my favorite s were the smokey, Carolina gold, and Alabama white. 🙂
I also think maybeeee we got slipped an extra side or two to try since we have never been there? Awesome surprise if so. Not a single thing left over! Thanks guys, we will see you again soon!

I had the HOT Roast beef platter. Roast beef was moist and lots of flavor. Fries were just like Thrashers. So good. Hubby had Brisket, he loved it. Best he has ever had. ❤️. Very clean on inside and outside. We will surely be going back.

Service was good, very welcoming. Chef was eating the whole time while preparing orders which made my stomach churn. Long beard with no hair guard as well which I didn’t appreciate.I know it’s a small
business so I wanted to show my support but was left moderately disappointed. Food was OK at best. Needs a little more TLC for a BBQ joint.
