while the TriBeCa Whole Foods has its seductive ways when you want groceries and a prepared meal bc you’re too lazy to cook the ingredients you just bought. don’t sleep on the Halal Cart for lunch, dinner, or just good ol’ gluttony. just outside WH’s entrance, this tiny cart serves an outrageously good chicken over rice. the scent of seasoned chicken on a pile of steamy aromatic rice with white sauce and hot sauces on top is the sweet spot of savory spicy comfort in a takeout container. the grill man is of few words, so pay/tip him then shut up and eat. and finally, a place in TriBeCa to use those smaller dead presidents.

My favorite Halal in the city. Open at all hours (I’ve never seen it closed save for some holidays). Biryani served during the week. Also great prices and portions. You may know about white sauce and hot sauce but give the green sauce a try it’s still got a kick but has an herbal flavor.

This is my current favorite halal cart in NYC. The Indian halal spices and flavors are unmatched. Find me there every single Wednesday for lunch. Ask to add the hardboiled egg to your platter.

This cart outside of the Tribeca Whole Foods has no business being one of the best halal carts in nyc. And yet it is, consistently.

Ordered a mixed platter late night, served an old pretty with just crunchy, dried lamb. Disappointing.
