Reviews
I am extremely upset and dissatisfied with this entire experience and such poor customer service. If I could choose 0 stars, I would.
After being hospitalized for 6 days and unable to eat for 7, all I could think about was this one sandwich from Subway. I was craving it so much and could not drive, that I had my sister go in my place. I wrote out the order, spoke to the employee over the phone, and even repeated everything to ensure it was correct. All I wanted was to finally take a bite of my sweet onion chicken teriyaki sandwich—my mouth was watering just thinking about it. But when I got it, I was deeply disappointed.
Here’s the order I placed: Sweet onion chicken teriyaki on herbs and cheese bread (instead of grain), with spinach instead of lettuce, and a few banana peppers. Everything else was to be as it’s typically made on that specific sandwich on the menu (please refer to the picture of the order shown to the employee below). However, what I received was far from what I expected.
Not only was there only 3 small pieces of chicken on the sandwich, but it was also loaded with olives and various types of peppers, not what was on the order, (please refer to picture below). I’m allergic to olives, and thankfully, I noticed one that fell out of the sandwich before things took a turn for the worse. This was the result of poor communication and a lack of attention from the staff, which is incredibly disappointing.
I immediately tried calling the store 6 times to resolve the issue, but no one picked up, or I was hung up on. So, I went to the store in person. The employee there was alone and didn’t have any information on how I could contact someone to address the situation. I left my number.
I finally spoke with the manager, Sue, and after a frustrating exchange of “he said, she said,” I tried to remain calm. I explained that while I could overlook the other mistakes, the olives and the lack of chicken were serious issues. Sue was unhelpful, claiming, “I only made the sandwich as it was ordered” (referring that my sister never showed her the photo). My sister definitely showed her the picture, and both of us know I’m allergic to olives. Instead of listening to my concerns, Sue called me “snotty” and repeatedly interrupted me. I was upset, but I didn’t feel that I was disrespectful in any way. Even when she admitted that there may have been a request for no olives, her response was dismissive, saying, “What do you want me to do?” A good manager would have offered a solution, but instead, I was met with indifference.
Sue also mentioned that there are cameras that record the sandwich-making process. I sincerely hope someone above this branch takes the time to review the footage to understand and see the situation.
