But they seem to be working like a great team.
There are 3 cooks that haven’t missed a beat the whole time we have been here. There have been plates lined up in various stages of done.
Never ending and well functional express lane for sure.
They are cooking, serving and cleaning. And cleaning .. and cleaning.
Waffles waffles and more waffles coming off the griddles.
The staff is definitely scattered smothered and covered.
April was our server. She says she is new, but you wouldn’t know it. She didn’t miss a thing.
Ms Golden appears to be managing this crew. She is on top of it. She’s not overly ‘managing’. I’ve heard her gentle prodding when waffles say they are done.. food may be sitting an extra second. She is seeing minor details and making corrections and training. She’s also encouraging and telling them how great they are. So is Christi.
Service was fast and friendly
Food was hot and delicious.
For a new store and new crew, it was amazing.
I highly recommend this place. Especially if you like waffle House!
I will come here again !
Normally we go to the Springfield TN Waffle House. That place gets a 5 out of 5 stars all the way around. Excellent place to eat!!!
But about 6 months ago, my wife and I had
to go to Ashland City early, so we stopped in that Waffle House to eat.
After waiting for more than 20 min for someone to finally give us silverware, a menu and take our order, we finally got drinks. Must mention that we were only the 3rd couple sitting down. No other customers in the restaurant.
So we waited for the waitress to give the cook our order. It took another 20 min for the waitress to finally call out the order to the cook cause apparently he had told all the waitresses that he was only doing one order at a time…..Really!!!!!
Once the order was finally called out, the cook made the waffles first and they were served to us immediately.
We had time to completely eat our Waffle before we ever got the rest of our food.
We were annoyed, but just played it off as maybe he was just having an off morning.
Fast forward to this past Friday….May 23rd.
We arrived at the Waffle House around 7:00am. We went in and there was two people at the bar area and one couple sitting at a booth.
We seated ourselves in a booth on the left side of the restaurant and looked over the menu for 5 min.
We put our menus down and waited to get our silverware and order taken.
There were at least 4 waitresses in the restaurant at the time. The waitresses looked over at us multiple times but never came over to us. They just stood there looking perturbed with their arms crossed.
Seemed odd, but we waited a little longer.
After almost 15 min, the cook came out of the back room…..and it was the same guy that we had as a cook.on our first time at that Waffle House.
He was just walking around, checking receipts on the registers, and just milling about. Not taking orders. Not doing anything while the waitresses just stood their with their arms crossed.
So after 25 min of just sitting in the booth with no silverware, no drinks and no order taken, we left and went to Springfield.
When we arrived in Springfield, the place was packed. Every seat was full, two takeout orders waiting and 6 people waiting to be seated.
Even with all thar, my wife and I got a seat, had our order taken and was eating all of our food in just under 20 min.
Soooooo, we will never go back to Ashland City Waffle House again. And I will recommend to everyone I know that they should never go there as well.
That cook needs to be retrained to properly work as a cook at Waffle House, or he needs to be let go.
Cause is definitely not qualified to properly run the line at Waffle House.
