Omg I think I found my favorite malatang place!!! I couldn’t really understand the hype behind malatang, but now I do. Their broth is hands down the best broth I’ve ever had—it’s so savory and seasoned just right. They have three levels of spiciness, and as someone who can barely handle the heat of Shin Ramen, level 1 was perfect. Level 2 was somewhere in between Shin Ramen and Buldalk, which was a bit too much for me. My mom says level 3 is “not that spicy” but it tasted like death to me
You should also try their sweet and sour pork as well! It is so chewy and helps neutralize the heat.
I definitely will come here more often than I should lol.

This is a self-service and no tip establishment. Love the idea that you build your own bowl and add whatever you want to it. The price is per pound of food, so put as much or as little as you want. The food tasted great and level 1 spicy was tolerable. They only have beef for the meat, which I hope they add more options in the future. Plenty of seating and food comes out pretty quickly. Utensils and take out containers are easily accessible. After you finish your meal you just return your tray.

A different take to restaurants. It’s like Shabu shabu but you have them cook it. So you pick the ingredients such as noodles, seafood balls, tofu, veggies, beef, shrimp and you weigh it n which gives you the cost you would pay. Then INSTEAD of bringing it to your table where you have a pot to cook, you submit your ingredients to the them and you wait at you table as they cook in the kitchen. You pick to cook it two ways only. Either soup style or stir fry style. See photos of what we ordered.

I’ve tried multiple malatang already and this is the one! Always enjoy the spicy soup here down to the last drop. Today, the kitchen made a mistake. They quickly fix it. They apologized and gave me a drink. Such a kind gesture!

Soup was great. We liked the build your own bowl. Sweet and sour pork was alright. I don’t think I will order that again…, but we will be definitely back for the Mara-tang. The man in the front was extremely nice.

This place is amazing! The build-your-own-bowl setup is such a great idea! You get to pick exactly what you want, and the price is based on the weight. I’d suggest around a pound of food, although you can go more or less depending on how you’re feeling. Tons of fresh veggie options and you can even choose your spice level. The inside is super clean with plenty of seating, and the man at the front was really friendly and helpful with explaining how everything worked.
Definitely one of those spots I’ll be coming back to again and again!!!

Really like the concept of build your own. Great flavor on both soup and stir fry .
3 spicy level options – price is per pound and there is a minimum of one pound. Wish they had different pound option for kids but that’s the only thing I would change. Friendly staff and great atmosphere and of course good food with fair pricing

Amazing gluten free soups. You pick all your ingredients and the soup base is delicious. Fresh ingredients that you can add to the soup

All the ingredients are set great, and the soup tastes fantastic. I made my soup spicy level 3, but it was not spicy enough for me. I ordered sweet and sour pork, which was too chewy, and the skin and meat were separated. If you are a Maratang lover, I strongly recommend it here.
