Best breakfast or lunch stop in Lansing! Fresh baked goods and donuts daily. Food is made from scratch and delicious. You can’t beat the value… where else can you get a huge omelet with hash browns and toast for under $8?

I love small town bakeries. It is a great surprise when I find them on road trips. Nutmegs is located in the old downtown of Lansing Iowa. There is a bakery case but most of the establishment is a cafe. The bakery case had a variety of pasties and donuts. I selected their blueberry scone and it was the perfect amount of sweetness with great texture. I will definitely stop back and recommend you do, too.

Soggy bread… couldn’t even call it toast. Tasteless hashbrowns with no crisp at all. Waited a good 45 minutes for a not good breakfast. I asked if our order got forgotten but she wouldn’t admit it. People who ordered same time we did were done eating when we got ours and it wasn’t even busy! Won’t be back.

I had the chocolate long john and the cinnamon twist both are delicious. No espresso coffee available in a cafe? (To be fair Im spoiled from living in a city). Otherwise, service was good,friendly,and fair prices. Also, background noise is low, so you can have a nice conversation.
