I moved to Central Florida 25 years ago and if there’s one thing I have missed it’s accessibility to authentic Cuban food. Not latin food…. CUBAN food. My wife and I have tried all the usual suspects in Orlando and, while they’re better than nothing, they’re not legit. Enter Fumao… This past Sunday night my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Pedro and learning about his and his wife’s passion for Cuban food. We kept it simple and bought assorted pastelitos and ham croquetas. When I tell you they taste exactly like home, I’m not exaggerating. I am so excited to have a bit of my culture and cuisine coming to Clermont. The food we picked up was hot, fresh and delicious. It took me right back to the coffee shop windows (ventanitas) and bakeries (panaderias) in Miami. I make it a habit of picking up pastries whenever I travel to Miami. I don’t have to worry about that anymore. I usually describe Cuban food to my friends as a party in your mouth because the flavors are just kapow! Fumao is shaping up to be a local hit. Congrats to Pedro and family on bringing the party to South Lake County. Welcome home! We’ve been waiting for this to arrive. ¡Salud!

We had them cater for us and ordered the Vaca Frita with rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. Food was delivered fresh and hot 30 minutes before scheduled time. It was very flavorful, delicious. We catered Fumao for Thanksgiving this year and the food completely exceeded our expectations. Every dish was packed with bold, rich flavor, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and ready to serve, which made hosting so much easier.
Our family is Dominican and we’re originally from Miami, so we don’t impress easily when it comes to food. Flavor matters to us, and Fumao absolutely delivered. Every single person was blown away. The food was full of depth, well balanced, and had that homemade quality you can taste right away. Our family kept asking where the food came from because it was that good!
the quality was top tier, and you could tell real care went into the preparation. It’s rare to find Cuban food espicially in Lake County that hits this level of flavor and consistency!

I ordered a tray of croquetas. The croquetas were delicious and very fresh. The texture was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The ham tasted flavorful with a nice smoky touch that made them even better. Cant wait for Fumao to open.

We catered food for Christmas Eve, and the system for pickup was so disorganized. The people passing out food were EXTREMELY rude. For how much the food cost, the quality was ridiculous. The pork still had HAIR on its skin. The yuca for ten people is barely enough for 5. The rice was undercooked. DO NOT BUY from these people. The food isn’t even good enough to deal with the horrible service.
