We had a great experience at Amaravati Restaurant, especially if you’re craving authentic South Indian food. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful, from the soft idlis with well-balanced chutneys to the crisp, perfectly filled dosas. The garlic chutney spring dosa was the clear standout—bold, aromatic, and easily the best dish we had. On top of the food, the staff and service were excellent: attentive, friendly, and quick, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, it’s a solid go-to spot for quality South Indian cuisine in the Los Alamitos area.

The food is not only delicious but also healthy, with fresh ingredients that enhance both the flavor and nutritional value. Each dish is well-prepared and beautifully presented, offering a wonderful taste that truly stands out. The service provided by the waiters is outstanding. Waiter service is polite, attentive, and genuinely caring, ensuring that guests feel comfortable and well looked after throughout their visit. Overall, the combination of a perfect location, high-quality food, and exceptional service makes this restaurant a great place to dine and highly recommendable.

Came for lunch with Butter Chicken on my mind. The waiter told me there was a lunch buffet, took a look, and butter chicken was on the buffet, so why not. I normally don’t get a buffet option because I am not a big eater, half a meal and I am done, and finish my leftovers a few hours later…. But: My first time here, why not get a sample of everything for just a few bucks more. Everything I tried was delicious. Really wish I could have eaten more! Very clean restaurant, waiter was friendly, food was delicious.

THE BEST Indian restaurant in Los Alamitos!
Went for the lunch buffet yesterday and absolutely loved every single moment of the experience. The food was beyond outstanding – the butter chicken and paneer matar masala were incredibly rich, flavorful, and so soft they literally melted in my mouth. The tandoori chicken was perfectly cooked and tasted truly authentic, just like comforting home-style Indian food done right.

The mango lassi was absolutely phenomenal – so pure, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Honestly, one of the best mango lassis I’ve ever had. And the sweets were just as impressive — fresh, delicious, and the perfect ending to an already unforgettable meal.

The service was exceptional – warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive and the atmosphere made the experience even more special. You can truly feel the love, care, and passion that goes into every dish. Even hours after leaving, the flavors were still lingering, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the meal.

Hands down, the BEST Indian restaurant in Los Alamitos. Already counting down the days until my next visit.
Amaravathi Los Alamitos is a must-visit if you’re craving authentic Indian food cooked with warmth and heart. ✨

I just visited today and it was so finger licking delicious, I have previously went to multiple Indian restaurants around the place, but this one is top notch. I can’t wait to come back again :).

Best Customer Service, staffs are extremely nice and responsible.

Food is out of the world!!!! And mainly that Butter Chicken and Naan, OMGgg!!!!!! It was so good. Waiting for my next Cheat meal to come back here again….!

And BTW, I got to try the Lunch Buffet out there!!!! A must visit Indian restaurant around Long Beach area.

I was craving for some dosas and idlis so thought of checking this place out, because an Indian had highly recommended it. This place is nice and spacious, staff are polite and courteous but the food was quite disappointing. We ordered a few South Indian items – Plain Vada, Masala Dosa, Paper Dosa and Plain Idli.
The vada and dosas were very greasy. The idlis were not really soft (although I am not much experienced, I still make better idlis and dosas at home!). Only the chutneys and sambar were tasty and good.
I can’t speak for the North Indian food, because we didn’t try them.
Definitely not going back for a South Indian food experience for sure.
I really wished to write a good review before visiting this place because of how highly someone spoke of it, but this place failed us food wise. 🙁

Update: Price is now $21 (from $17) as of Aug. 10, 2025

Went for the lunch buffet. Nothing out of the ordinary.
I will go again when craving it because butter chicken was there (a favorite) but I tried 6 or 7 dishes and nothing stood out, but all were good.
Place was clean – it’s fairly new.
