And the meal itself was exquisite! The flavors were unique and surprising and delicious. The staff were outstanding and of course Stacey is a phenomenal chef.
Our group included teens to grandparents and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We all look forward to returning!
The atmosphere in the newly built-out space is understated, modern, and hip: though there is a lot to discover, from family photos, post-industrial rustic tables, beautiful flowers, and eye-catching paintings, none of the decor overshadowed the food. Served family style on two long tables, the meal featured locally- grown produce – some of which was cultivated directly in front of the restaurant, some at a farm above Talent. Both the food and presentation were fresh: from a squash starter (chilis made the earthy sweetness of the kabocha pop) to a chicory pomegranate salad to a cider infused pork course to the dessert of pear tart, all the flavors and textures wove together beautifully.
The service was attentive; the wines thoughtfully chosen, local, and interesting.
The meal was dedicated to Chef Stacey Givens’ mother, whose Greek-inspired relationship to cuisine informs the experience at Sideyard: eating locally grown food prepared and served with care and passion, while sitting next to strangers who become friends over the course of an evening.
The addition of Sideyard Farms to the Rogue valley dining landscape is tremendously exciting and I look forward to many more meals here.
This is a pop-up with supper club vibes, except it’s not exclusive! Chef/Owner Stacey serves top-notch quality, locally grown, food in a cozy community gathering hub-like atmosphere complete with beautiful dining furniture. The food is divine and the service is spectacular and I highly recommend it.
