The portions are so generous that we actually had to take our dessert to go! If you’re looking for authentic Italian that doesn’t compromise on serving size, this is it. We will definitely be back
Food was first-class with great portion sizes and served quickly.
Good selection of wines to pair with your meals as well as a great range of cocktails.
Quality, full flavour Italian food that is done very, very well.
After the fact we were told about how they had hired an “influencer” to help market the restaurant. Obviously this has had a positive affect as the place was packed but to be fair the quality speaks for itself.
I had the blue swimmer crab pasta , my friend had the gnocchi and a salad. We didn’t have room from the strawberry tiramisu so she offered that takeaway, which I ate a few hours later and it was yummy
We had 2 cocktails each . All up $214 and it was worth every penny. The portion sizes were generous. 5 stars
I picked it because I was in the area and their social media promotion tattooed their tiramisu in my brain.
My partner and I had:
– Coccoli with prosciutto : You can’t go wrong with fried dough, prosciutto, and ricotta. They were really satisfying.
– Rigatoni alla vodka : I was really impressed. The mix of flavors (pork, burrata, spices), quantity, and texture were all great. Honestly loved them.
– Cacio e pepe : The presentation was great, but when we actually mixed up the cheese and the sauce, IMHO, they were more pepe than cacio (cheese). We expect a rich pecorino sauce, but really, we could only feel the pepper. I don’t pretend to know what this dish should be like, and of course there are many ways to cook the same recipe. However, I would not recommend it if you are after the cheese taste.
– Tiramisu: Their signature presentation (scooping it out of the tray) is really satisfying, and the texture too. Maybe the first layer could be improved a bit, but still definitely good. Next time we’ll try the strawberry one.
Then, my glass of Chianti was nice, but it would have been even better to see some Piedmont options by the glass.
The service was efficient, the price was in line with this type of restaurant, and the ambient became a bit loud once the wine started flowing, as you can imagine on a Sunday.
All in all, a good option if you don’t want to stay too close to the city. Next time we will also try the pizzas, as they looked delicious.
They did run out of tiramisu, but with how lovely they were, and delicious the food, it’s absolutely no hassle to go back for a chance to try it. The Cannoli was a perfect alternative for dessert. (Only note for the kitchen is that the gluten free pasta requires a bit more salt in the water than standard gluten pasta to get the seasoning right, given the difference in flours)
However the rigatoni with crab fell flat for me. The crab taste was overpowering whilst the sauce lacked depth. Depth was also lacking in the strawberry tiramisu for desert. It wasn’t bad, it was just ok.
Our picks:
burrata board
spaghetti marinara
boscaiola pizza bianca
charred baby cos
tiramisu (strawberry & original)
Everything here is generous, full of flavour and made to be enjoyed slowly with good company.
The burrata board comes with coccoli fried pizza bread and honestly it’s the PERFECT pairing!
Plus, their pizzas are made fresh to order! Straight from the oven with that perfectly chewy base and crispy edges we love.
And do not miss the tiramisu — it’s SO good and served right in front of you, making it the perfect sweet ending to the meal!
