1860’s Public House in Red Bud, IL is an absolute standout. It’s a true scratch kitchen, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The food is consistently excellent—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. They’ve done a phenomenal job renovating the space; it’s stylish, inviting, and full of charm. Whether you’re grabbing dinner with friends, enjoying a date night, or just want a great meal in a great atmosphere, this place delivers. The attention to detail, both in the kitchen and the ambiance, makes 1860’s one of the best spots in the area. Highly recommend!

Took a drive to Red Bud and stopped at this very nice restaurant on Main street in Red Bud IL. On Sundays they serve a limited brunch menu, because they close at 2PM. They have a full bar if you desire an adult beverage. I ordered their “Triple Decker Club” sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich was amazing, the ham and turkey that was used fresh sliced and had a really nice smokey flavor. They served it on a toasted multi-grain bread.

The service was great, our waitress was super friendly and very nice. She checked on us regularly to see that we were taken care of.

Would like to go back on a Saturday and check out their full menu.

The only thing better than the food was the staff. The bartender was amazing with a warm and inviting presence that can make anyone feel at home in this local gem. The rich history and bold flavors can’t be beat. Thanks a million to the staff for a late night coffee , fantastic food, and great conversations.

Everything was extremely good. I had one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time (The Goat). The Reuben was fantastic as well. The staff is extremely friendly and charismatic. The restaurant is in a beautiful building and the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming.

Classy little joint in a tiny city, perfect!

Stopped in for a late lunch early supper and to get a bit of work done.

Waited a few to finally get seated, but so glad I did.

I was going to order the Reuben, but the server told me about a special they were having, Reuben Rolls. They were good, not the best cuz I really missed my rye bread, but very good. Got some fries and a house salad to round out the meal. Had sweet tea to drink, which was delicious! Topped it off with another recommendation, the cookie dough cake. So delectable! Good service – awesome food!!

Absolutely phenomenal all around the board! I can’t believe I’ve lived in the area for decades and never tried this restaurant. The staff was super friendly and very helpful, as well as understanding especially when they know that you know what it’s like when you’ve got a fire under you running your butt off when it’s busy. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone! Not to mention the food was absolutely blissful in every bite!

Firsttime in there waitress name was riley very attentive and had a good sense of humor very helpful and we never had to ask for anything she was a good waitress- food came out perfectly the rolls and homemade honey butter was basically a sin we indulged in. Ordered the fish and chips which was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside wife ordered the steak which was cooked exactly like she wanted it . Definitely a great place to eat

Great food. Only negative I have was the service. Ordered Chicken Alf and did not have chicken. Would have been an easy fix, yet no one came to the table to check after food was delivered. Waited and waited. Had to ask for check. To fix the problem management took off 6 bucks. This is not about money, as I tipped 20 on 40 but note to management: you should have taken the entire chicken Alfredo off the ticket. If I ordered a burger and there was no patty you dont take off a few bucks you take the entire burger off the check. Had you managed/trained better and done a routine table touch after food was delivered and not waited till almost 30 minutes later again this could have been an easy fix. This is where you take off a few dollars and correct the mistake. Waiting till the customer has sat there and having to ask for the check this is where again you take the entire item off the check.

I love how this place has kept the charm of the history of this building. The waitress was attentive and the food was good. Parking can be tricky but if you know Red Bud, you can find it pretty well.
