Holy Cow had been suggested to me time and time again to try for their cheese- steaks. My spouse lived many years in Philadelphia, and as many of us know, cheese steaks are a big deal in Philly. So when it comes to having the best cheese steak, he’s been my guide.
Holy Cow did not disappoint. I loved the fact that they used the same rolls that are typically used in Philly for the cheese steaks. IMO, the bread makes all the difference, and we were definitely off to a great start.
My husband ordered the Holy Smoke, which is loaded with a variety of peppers and onions.
I stuck with a plain steak & cheese.
While both were good, the Holy Smoke was definitely better. The peppers added such a nice flavor profile to the sandwich.
If you’re ever here and you don’t mind the extras, I say definitely opt for that option instead of the classic.
Nonetheless, we enjoyed our lunch and will happily return to try their chicken philly as well as their fish meals.
The service was great!

Super friendly staff and the steak Philly was amazing! The buffalo chicken Philly was also out of this world! Nice and spicy! Fries were super crunchy. Place was clean and people were in and out picking up or ordering food. Definitely will be back.

The cheese steaks here live up to their name because Holy cow! They are delicious! We have tried many cheese steaks across the nation, including the best spots in Philly but they don’t compare to Holy cow. These cheese steaks are made with quality ingredients, the beef is soft, juicy and so flavourful. And the biggest plus was the char that is given to the meat, that takes it to the next level. We got the Holy cow and Meat & Potato cheese steaks. We are definitely coming back to try the rest of their menu items. Very friendly staff and the restaurant has very cozy vibes.

Visited this sandwich shop for the first time on a snowy day when they were not very busy. Ordered a classic Philly cheesesteak with sauteed onions and peppers. When I took my first bite of the sandwich and exclaimed “Holy cow, this is good!”, I realized where the name of the restaurant came from. I have a reference for comparison as I visited my daughter often during the 4 years she was in college in Philadelphia and tasted several of the city’s famous Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. I don’t remember any tasting as good as the one I had here today. The au jus that was added was incredibly good. And, the steak was tender, lean, and beefy. Can’t wait to bring my daughter here when she visits. UPDATE-1: Had their onion rings for the first time. Absolutely first rate. The Holy Cow version of the Philly cheesesteak sandwich was delicious with a strong beef flavor from the shaved steak, perfectly cooked mushrooms, peppers, and onions, and creamy cheese whiz. UPDATE-2: Trying something different, I ordered the Hot Philly. It comes with onions, cheese, and hot cherry peppers. Delicious, with just the right amount of spicy heat. UPDATE-3: Had dinner here for the first time. The sandwich was a bit dry and the onion rings were not as good as those I’ve had previously. Still pretty good. But, inconsistencies may be encountered depending on who’s in the kitchen. UPDATE-4: Went for lunch and the onion rings were again fantastic. Had the hot philly and my wife had the classic. Excellent lunch.

Phenomenal cheesesteaks, tater tots, and macaroni salad. The Holy Cow is to die for. Tender steak and delicious cheese whiz piled high with onions, peppers, and mushrooms. The Utica greens and Utica greens cheesesteak are incredible too. You will not be disappointed checking out this spot. This spot is already a staple in Marcellus. I wish you luck on many years of business!

The food is absolutely amazing, the ambience of the restaurant is perfect and has a warm welcome feel to it, and the service was amazing. Nancy is a wonderful, kind and attentive worker that makes you feel very welcome! Did I mention the food is amazing? I got the Philly Hots Cheese Steak and it was more than I expected, just the right about of heat and the flavor was spot on and delicious. I added Tater tots to my order and they came out hot, crispy, and fresh, don’t forget to get some ranch dressing to dip it in, not sure if it’s homemade or not but it tastes great as a dip for fries or tots. I would definitely recommend this place to dine in, take out, or delivery.
