Our group of 4 loved our food. The clam chowder tastes fresh and delicious, best i have had. Rib eye steak was cooked to perfection. The sides were very good. The vegetables were fresh, not frozen.

Amazing food, no wait & the best service! Can’t remember our waitress’s name, blonde hair, blue eyes & as sweet as pie. We really enjoyed ourselves. Great experience!

This restaurant was amazing! My boyfriend and I went through the area doing an interstate drive and decided to go here for dinner and I am SO glad we did. The French Onion Soup was absolutely delicious, I thought it coukdnt get better, but then their Fettuccine Alfredo was the best I’d ever had! Our desert was divine, too, but honestly that Alfredo just amazed me beyond belief. And to top it off, the waiststaff were super friendly and helpful. I wish we were closer and could visit more often! Thank you again for fantastic food and service!

We came in at a chaotic time to eat. 2 servers, 10 tables plus the bar. The servers were very nice and handled the crazy well. I had the Asian chicken salad, my husband had chicken Ceaser salad. Both salad were amazing. The Ceasar had homemade croutons. We shared a loaf of fresh, warm garlic bread, $10.50, and SO delicious. I was looking at their hamburgers and other meats as they passed by. Truly YUM! Everyone eating seemed very pleased. A great place to eat in Brookings.

We visited The Lucky Pirate Chop House for the first time on a Saturday evening around 6pm. We have been coming to Harbor/Brookings for about 5 years and usually hit our usual spots, which have been going downhill and not as pleasant as they once were. Shiver me timbers when we ran into a favorite server we hadn’t seen in several years. While it was wonderful to visit with Ash, me met the other staff, all of which were a blast! So nice and friendly and the owner was a hoot! This place has great food, great staff, and great atmosphere. We look forward to returning and have The Lucky Pirate as our go to spot. Thank you for the wonderful time and new hang out spot! Cheers!

We just ate here for the 2nd time. It was delicious both times. This time we ordered the cheese curds with sweet chili sauce for an appetizer and they were phenomenal! A little spicy which was perfect. My dad even loved them and he’s picky. Our server/bartender was super friendly. He knows my parents by name as they eat there almost weekly. My daughter got the grilled chicken sandwich with garlic steak fries and loved it. Dad got the Big Daddy Mac burger and really enjoyed it. The buttered toffee carmel cake was delicious as well. We all left completely stuffed with almost full to-go boxes. Very generous helpings.

The lucky pirate don’t expect any linen. Plastic glassware and 1 fork and 1 paper napkin. No baked potatoes available with Filet mignon meal $58 only 40 minutes into dinner hours. Filet mignon was tough and served barely warm.
Everyone uses flashlight to read menu. Atmosphere is extremely disappointing with Old acoustic ceiling tiles above you, cinder block walls. Wear a coat during meal, there is no heat. Country music is medium loud. No bread served with pasta dish. Service is slow to non existence 2 servers for the restaurant Bathroom smells like mold. Still has urinal valve on wall

Very expensive steak. It $40. It was tasty but not $40 for a new York steak. I could cook it at home for 1/3 of the price. But the clams were tasty and worth the $18 we paid for them. The baked potatoes were huge but could have had more toppings and options for an $8 potato. I wanted to change the decor. A couple neat feature walls but the whole place needed to be modernized a bit to be charging 40-80 for a steak. Bar status tables in a restaurant selling food at the dining prices. Please have more comfy chairs that are big booty friendly. My legs were falling asleep while waiting for our food.

Waitress was great! Super friendly staff.

Phenomenal! The ribeye is divine, melt in your mouth, sweet potatoes wonderful as well. Husband said the clam chowder was the best he has had in a long time. We both agree the french onion soup was top notch. The toffee crunch cake tasted like my Memaw’s butter cake upgraded with toffee. Can not say enough about this place.

Food is fantastic. Prices are obscene. Service is non existent.

Everything we had for dinner was superb. Flavorful, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Ribeye & lobster, shrimp, clam chowder, side salad, au gratin potatoes. Probably the best meal we’ve had in Brookings.

The prices though are way out of line with the service, timeliness of the meal, and the atmosphere. “Market price” for all seafood (except shrimp) and steaks (rib eye and NY included). Not understanding this concept. We eat NY and ribeye frequently and there hasn’t been hardly any fluctuation in price. Our bill was $130 for 2 dinners, no drinks, no dessert, no apps. The lobster and ribeye was alone $100. I would highly recommend you ask for pricing when you order if you don’t want to be shell shocked.

The service was sub par. There were only about 5/6 tables seated and 2 waiters. We waited for our orders to be taken. We waited multiple times for our waters to be refilled. We waited close to 40 min for our dinners to be brought out. The lobster didn’t come out with dinner, took another 10 min for that at which point we were both just finishing up our plates. Not once did our server come by to update us or even apologize. She saw us leave and didn’t even acknowledge our visit.

Atmosphere is a step above a bar type feel. Stained plywood walls. Kitschy pirate decor. It was clean and well lit. We overheard the male waiter across the dining room talking about their business since they moved down the hill. He said they make “triple to four thousand” a night for dinner. Which is their money maker. Well, we just contributed $130 to that number. Tacky to say the least.

Not sure that we’d go back just based on the service.

Improve the service and get your prices set and at a reasonable price point and I’d bet you’d be the busiest restaurant in town. We’d sure stop in every time we were in town.
