My partner and I visited this ramen restaurant today and had a very disappointing experience.

When one of our meals could not be eaten due to an issue with the dish, we politely asked for it to be removed from the bill. Staff immediately refused and showed little willingness to understand or accommodate the situation, including my partner’s legitimate dietary needs.

The interaction escalated after we asked to speak with a manager. Despite never having been to this restaurant before, the manager accused us of “doing this all the time,” which was both inaccurate and inappropriate. We were also spoken about in another language during the exchange, which felt highly unprofessional and contributed to a sense of disrespect and microaggression.

Most concerning, the manager stated that if the item were removed from the bill, we would not be allowed to return to the restaurant. We ultimately and professionally declined to pay for a meal that was not eaten, after which the bill was finally adjusted so we could pay only for what we consumed.

Mistakes happen, but the way this situation was handled including the lack of respect, accountability, and basic customer service was unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured we will not be returning.

I generally enjoy eating here but I wasn’t expecting a golf-ball sized clump of noodles at the bottom of my bowl this time around. They were extremely clumped probably during to overcooking or not rinsing off excess starch before serving which makes me think that the cooked noodles were sitting out on the counter for a while. The soup was also not hot at all upon serving, just mildly warm.

Other than that, the new menu design (made to look like a magazine) was quite cute and the service was also attentive.

My sister and I brought our parents hereto have their first ever ramen — it was perfect!! Lots of delicious choices with a menu that had clear pictures of what to expect, which was perfect and helpful for my parents. The staff was kind and helpful, and the food was delicious!!! My parents loved it – success. ✨

I Ordered the Miso tonkotsu ramen and the Truffle shoyu Ramen. And for my appetizer I ordered squid and spicy chashu baos.

The baos and the squid are so good and flavorful I recommend this 100%!

Also my miso ramen broth was so delicious and I added a little spice to it and it was perfect.I would take one point away because some of the noodles were kind of clumped up / hard, and all together. But other than that it was great.

It was alright. Service was good and nice. Our ramens were kind of flavorless and diluted it felt like. Lackluster. I wanted a really good bowl of ramen and was looking forward to it but left disappointed unfortunately.
I wouldn’t recommend it, you’re better spending your money elsewhere honestly. It’s more like a fast food chain ramen I realized later. Maybe it was just this location that wasn’t good and the others are better.

Food: my friend and I went to try their Ramen, which is perfect for a cold weather day. I got the truffle show your Ramen, which was rather quite light in the broth. The bamboo shoe was a little bit, tough to chew and the ingredients were just not as hot. However, the overall Ramen noodles was pleasant, and the other toppings worked well in the soup.

Service: our server was very quick and everything was promptly delivered

Ambiance: rather small, low light, your intimate place. The seatings are rather close and It has a lot of infrared LED lighting

Location accommodation: they have side parking in a parking lot that you can park for free after 8 PM

My husband and I love ramen! Before finding this gem of a restaurant, we had tried to eat at a few other restaurants in Waltham and we were very disappointed by their bad service (we waited at other restaurants for 20 minutes before getting a menu and they weren’t even busy.)

At WakuWaku, the waitstaff was friendly and more importantly, the food was delicious, hot, fast & satisfying!

We got the cauliflower appetizer, fried veggie dumplings and the veggie ramen! Everything was wonderful and hot. The ramen broth was particularly outstanding! The perfect balance of flavors. Yum!

We will definitely be back again!

Waiting: 0min at lunch on weekend
First dish: 5 min.

I was pleasantly surprised by this ramen chain, as it far exceeded my expectations. Initially, I had doubts—not only because it’s a chain but also due to the new type of ramen house atmosphere. The bar-like setting with loud music and vibrant lights didn’t resemble the traditional Japanese ramen house experience, but the food more than made up for it.

I tried the signature ramen, priced at $17. While the ramen itself was nothing particularly special, the tonkotsu base was rich and flavorful, closely resembling Japanese tan-tan men with its sesame paste and spicy oil influence. The noodles were a bit thicker than typical tonkotsu, but still enjoyable. I suspect they might be from Sun Noodle, which is a plus and likely a favorite for many!

The dish also came with pork cutlets, which, while good, didn’t stand out much. The cutlets were thinly sliced, with a drizzle of tonkatsu sauce, and were satisfying but not remarkable. However, the combination of ramen and cutlets made for a filling meal, and at $17, it felt like a reasonable deal, especially in today’s economy.

The bar-like vibe, with its energetic music and lighting, might not suit everyone—some kids may enjoy the fun atmosphere, while others might not—but I’ll definitely be back to try more of their offerings.
