BEST Mexican food in Montclair! So happy to try this out today. We had beef tacos, enchilada verde, torta Al Pastor, horchata and classic hamburger deluxe. Great food, great value, great service! So excited this is joining our options.

Excellent family run place. We went there for lunch during the Montclair Jazz Festival.
The young man at the desk, the owner’s son, was very cordial. The food was great. I had their homemade juice (Hibiscus seed juice). It was great.
It is a take out place with some seating. But, the seating was good.

I ordered the grilled chicken and rice and beans. I got a chicken breast cut in half thin a spoon of rice a spoon of beans and salad on the same plate. It was not worth it in my opinion. It was OK but I guess if you don’t know that much Spanish, you don’t get that much food wouldn’t recommend

I’ve come here twice now, once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both visits were great. My most recent visit I ordered the Gallo chicken quesadilla for takeout and it was perfect. My order was ready in about 10min and came out piping hot and fresh. The quesadilla was a really good size and had a good portion of chicken. The tortilla was perfectly crisp without being greasy. I appreciated that the lady walked out from behind the back of the counter to hand and me my food when it was ready. The restaurant space is small and the temperature was pretty warm inside but I really enjoyed the food. Great value overall. Will definitely be back to satisfy those Mexican food cravings!

The breakfast quesadillas are delicious! Definitely need to try the lunch options as well. Also, heads up, this place is cash only.

My go to for Mexican or just for an easy meal. Solid al pastor and enchiladas along with good tamales, especially the cheese. Love their fries too. If you are in Montclair, Glen Ridge, or Bloomfield hit it up.

This place was great! Husband got the chorizo breakfast burrito, I got the bistec a a la Mexicana, and we shared al pastor tacos. The tacos were DELICIOUS, and we both loved our main meals too. The bistec was enough for two meals, to be honest (no complaints here!). We will definitely be coming back.
The only bummer is that it seems like their entire menu isn’t available to order for pickup/delivery – but I’ll happily go in person to try more items!
BTW – we did delivery through DoorDash and everything came to our door super warm! (We live about 10 min away by car)

I searched for tacos in Montclair and los Herman’s Mexican Grill had a 4.7 rating. So I tried it based off the rating. I ordered $24 worth of tacos from chicken to El pastor, beef and chorizo. Except for the Chorizo, all the other meat tacos were absolutely terrible. The beef, chicken and el pastor have no seasoning and dry as hell. There was absolutely no seasoning on the meat. I repeat the tacos are very dry to eat. There was so bad that the people who bought them for, threw them away. I never write reviews. However, I had to write on this one. Because I just got robbed of $24.
I’ve never had such add tacos. However I can’t say that the service was extraordinary. Cast here wasn’t nice dude.

If you want authentic and fresh Mexican food this is the place. As soon as I saw the small Mexican restaurant I knew it was going to be legit. It was so delicious, we came back again the next day. The first day we had tacos dorados de pollo, torta de milanesa de pollo with an agua de jamaica. 1000/1000 the Jamaica (hibiscus) was perfect in flavor and not overly sweet. The second time we got a tamale, bistec a la mexicana, and the tacos again. The food is fresh and hot! The salsa taste like they just made it!It’s a very peaceful little restaurant. I would recommend it to everyone. Best of all it’s local!
