Stopped in on a Wednesday evening and was seated right away. Our waitress, Emily, was friendly and helpful. Our group ordered a Breaded Tenderloin and fries, Fire Shrimp Pasta, and the Birria Tacos and fries. The food was delicious and we finished off our meal by sharing a Peanut Butter Brownie.
The menu had a good variety of options and make sure you leave room for one of the wonderful looking desserts. There is an outdoor patio during warmer weather.

Food was excellent! Our waitress was very nice and took the time to answer any questions. Get the buttered steak with garlic bread appetizer; you will not be disappointed!! Will definitely return here if we are in the area again!

One of the best pub meals we’ve had — excellent burger, pork tenderloin sandwich, and fries. The environment is modern and inviting but also comfortable, the waitress was very helpful and attentive, and we were served quickly. Definitely will be back when in the area.

I have always brought out of town friends and family here. The food and drinks have always been great. Ive heard the quality has gone down specially with the steak bites but figured its time to support local and take a family member there today. My party and I were sat awkwardly as I was left standing while my other members sat as I waited for the kid to place the menus and silverware. No real biggie there. The issue I had is we sat from 11:30a-11:50a without a server even asking about drinks. I watched other tables come in and get served drinks before us. Like stated in a review below the staff seemed to be busy socializing with each other minus the bartender, she was actually working. The business will fail if the waitress continues to ignore tables. Honestly Im hesitant to come back after what I have heard and experienced.

$15.00 for this that’s insane!!!!!! That’s worth maybe $5 it’s the size a kids portion if that!!!!! What else gets me is this is $15.00 and you get a tiny portion but to make it even worse you don’t get a side!! So we will not ever be ordering from here again!!! This is why places fail in Winterset because they do great for the first few weeks with taste and portions, then they don’t stay consistent!!!! I ordered the Mac and cheese in the first week or so of them opening. The portion was great and the flavor was amazing. Then ordered it 2-3 weeks later and the portion was the same but there was no flavor and missing some of the ingredients described. Then order it again this time trying to give them another chance and the portion was terrible and the flavor was still bland and even my 3 year old wouldn’t eat it!!!

The Urban Taproom and Grille had a nice atmosphere, friendly service, and an interesting menu. The food is good but could really shine with a little more focus on execution. I had the fish tacos. The fish was good but overall too salty. If the flavors were a bit more balanced it could be excellent.

Saw the reviews and was really looking forward to trying this place out. Stopped by last week as my work partner and I were in town. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff, we were seated and given menu’s, and then…. nothing.
We sat there for probably 20 minutes, no drinks, no server, nothing. It’s not because they were busy as the staff were all socializing. They must have all thought somebody else was helping us? Im not sure, but we did not have time so we left without any service. Im not sure what happened but it was a very disappointing experience.

I got the B3 burger and my gf got the crispy chicken sandwich. It was a Tuesday night. Let’s start with the good:
Portions: Great
Service: Good
Atmosphere: Good
However, the food was absolutely flavorless. I couldn’t finish my plate and my gf ended up just taking the rest of the chicken sandwich home and not eating it. Everything was just bland. I don’t remember the last time I was actually this disappointed in a place. I was actually upset about, and I went home with money gone and nothing good out of it. I hope I caught them on a bad day because I was extremely upset with my first and probably only experience.

Great service. Great food. Great drinks. Highly recommend a trip out here for some good eats. Do not forgot the caramel latte martini for dessert. Can’t wait to come back to try more food!
